I dont see a point on making a thread earlier than after last GS update before the game. At least on offsite where tactic will be chosen. might open it earlier onsite.

Well, hopefully if either one of us wins we can just team up and do all we can to make Canada best it can be. I am open for co-operation, but unfortunately there has to be one player that will have all the buttons and his name up on the board.

Zmtomako, I was ignoring you as you asked some hard hitting questions :)

The depth chart you created is awesome and would continue to be used by me in the event that I am elected. It is critical that managers know where their players measure up. As I mentioned you have done a great job of posting it and I would continue to do the same.

The long term building of the NT has been a huge downfall of the current NT program. I feel that we need to develop more specific players to be part of specific sets that the NT would want to use. In order to do this a list of dynamic builds would need to be created and managers would need to try and stick to the plan as much as possible. It is my opinion that more balance is required as our current roster is unfortunately rather limited. If you look at teams like the Czech's or Poland you will see that the players salaries are very low based on the performance, this is critical in encouraging players to continue to train NT players. Otherwise they become two expensive and end up on the transfer market on a monthly basis.

The two year plan for me would be to first and formost win as many games as possible. Secondly I would like to continue to grow and develop the training/ long term plans for players.

Under my guidance the NT would take a best team available approach. If that means that we have a bunch of vets then so be it. The goal is to win as winning will encourage interest. I see that there are plenty of young players about to take the step and grab full time roles on the NT and will certainly make those moves and changes as required.

I have a question for both candidates and I understand Damien said something about that in his speech and Beanerz is going to adopt a 'best team possible' approach. If you get elected, what is the future of Kev Fairchild? Do you think he can hang with the best of them? Does he get cut? Is he put on probation? What happens?

To be honest with you I dont like his build to much, but before making accurate statement I would have to see skills of his potential replacements. I would say right now Chris Thomas would be his replacement but as I said, it is not written in the stone.

How about Daniel Chretien?

As I said, I only have limited information (ones from depth chart posted offsite). I would consider Chretien since he is 4 years younger, but Thomas is better at the moment (or at least at the moment when chart was updated). I like 1 more level of OD, much better IS, and especially passing. Experience is also a factor. And I think it overcomes 1 level lower in shooting, much lower rebounding, and some handling.

I have the following two Canadians. What do you recommend I do to give myself at the best chance at promoting with these guys while making them players that have potential for the NT?. I don't care about U21. I will be investing in a level 5 trainer and have no problem just sitting in D3 for a season or two, training these guys up, building my arena, and trying to stockpile some cash.

You have a nice trainees there. hey have tons of potential, and nice height to make them into SF's or PF in 2nd case. Starting skills aren't that great so U21 is out of the question and NT is questionable but they sure will make great players at some points. I would start with outside training first (because of height of the 2nd player). I would do OD and JR first to get one position outside training out of the way, then passing (also one position but much faster). OD at least prominent, JR I would say around respectable-strong and passing to strong-proficient. Then it is your call. Either do one-on-one, ID or RB.


Good idea is to try to figure out what final product do you want and how much salary you can sacrifice for them. Then planning training form that point is pretty straight-forward (if you are not trying to promote, then it get's tricky)

Fairchild likely will not make my team, but as already mentioned I will need to see the other candidates builds prior to making any firm decisions.

I am not a fan of his build especially in todays look insise era, so if he were to make the team he would have to be more of a specialist.

How about Chretien? I like this player although he too is only an option in certain tactics. I think he has a chance at the very least to see time as a back up. Thomas is a solid player but his complete lack of rebounding is not ideal at the NT level.

Nice trainees!! Balanced PF/SF would be my recommended end goal based on both their height and potential.

I would recommend training them in OD first as it tends to be the slowest and passing last as it is the fastest. In between my preferance is a rotation that can get continual pops.
