Hi all!

In the Italian conference we were thinking on how the three shooting skills work. After a long arguing we come to this solution:

Jump shot shows the overall skill of a player to score a basket, from anywhere in the field, this ability is combined with Inside shot when the player is shooting a 2pt shot. The distance makes more effective the ability, but the distance-penalty is lowered by the ability Jump reach (higher the ability is, lower is the penalty)

Is this right or we misunderstood something?

inside shot kind of replaces jump shot for conclusions from the paint, as far as I've been told.

So, whenever a player shoots from the paint, the game uses inside shot, and outside uses jump shot.

Are both affected by jump range, or is it just a matter of jump shot accuracy?

jump range gains more and more importance the further you go from the basket.

Ok, that's clear. Thank you. Now let's go fight for the italian translation ;PP

i beleieve that Inside shot also is what counts for lay-ups and dunks.

(cause my guards are awesome in jump shooting, but keep missing their dunks and layups every time...)

I hate to barge in on a great discussion like this, but if you check out the Nomenclature section of the Rules page, it will probably help out with a few of these questions :-)
