I have three players with 54-46-44 minutes this week as PG. I then wonder what people believe. Would I get better training by 48 minutes in two positions than 46 minutes at one position? Would I get it through 44 minutes during a week?

Would these three players even benefit in total by one position?

Impossible to get three players with over 48 minutes each at PG. They must have played another position as well. You can 1 position train and get a max of 3 players with full training or 2 position train and get a max of 6 players with full training. The 1 position training is more effective for those 3 players but it is not nearly twice as effective as doing 2 player training. There are advantages and disadvantages in both. For each person to decide what they prefer.

I think:

44 minutes in 1 position training > 48 minutes in 2 position training.

That is if we're comparing just one player here.

But if we want to compare the whole training received for all participating players:

total skill increase for 3 players in 1-position training < total skill increase for 6 players in 2-position training.

I have no data to back that up but only what I think would make sense according to the numbers in 'training analysis' thread which I'm aware isn't 100% accurate. But still it would make sense that the slower training type would give a bigger boost overall to the group being trained compared to the faster training type.

It is not an alternaive to train 5 players (or even 6 for me) as I must have a competitive team in highest division and then I can't afford to play more than one newcomer. I have two now too old guards to train as well but their training are not likely to be efficient so therefore they are out of training after last season.

You probably should train 1 position and just one player on the cup and scrimmages so you don't lose in the league because it's a first division and playing a 4k rookie brings it's cost.

That is exactly what I am doing but my concern was whether I will punish that player too much by just playing 44-46 minutes a week instead of more than 48 minutes as PG/SG which I easily can fix.

If it is more efficient for a player with 2 positions and 48 minutes than one position and 44 minutes is my main question.

While 44-46 minutes is not a huge difference, it will prevent your trainees from maximizing their training efforts and it won't give your players the best game shape either.

I can of course play them in other positions and don''t hurt game shape. Alternative is to just train two players and I therefore prefer to keep trying to train three players. I will evaluate it at end of season.

If its possible to get those guys 48 minutes plus, even in other positions, I would. Good luck!

I am in a similar position.

I also want to give this player(14781491)48 minutes in the scrimmage.

Should I put Oakes as back up point guard to give him full training or go ahead and play Desplan 48 minutes in the scrim?

(btw, Oakes is primary trainee)
