End of an Era

It was a week into season 4. GM Pappy O'Daniel had just paid $5000 to obtain Michael Frame from an English team in Liverpool and Frame had just arrived at team headquarters in Dog River. After a short visit (Frame: "This is a bloody small town"), Pappy dubbed him "Mad Dog" from Joe Cocker's 1970 live album "Mad Dogs and Englishmen." Frame would go on to help the Riverdogs advance from Div IV to II while leading the Dogs in scoring four of the five seasons 5 through 9. His regular season point total of 1786 is a Riverdog record. And his 3FG%age of 32.8 is decent too. Never an All-Star or a league MVP, Frame's biggest contribution may have been his feisty "we'll-be-in-every-game" attitude.

So it was with reluctance that Pappy yesterday announced the sale of Michael Frame to a team from Spain for a Riverdog record $2.25M. "Mad Dog" bowed out as a Riverdog with the team's Cup loss Thursday, leading the team with 18 points. Pappy and the Riverdogs wish him "Good Luck" with his new team and career.
