Press Announcements

Fatty Ough (Part 2)

Fatty Ough would go on to play five league games and a handful of cup games and scrimmages over the course of two seasons. His career totals consist of 12 points, 13 rebounds and 1 assist, to go along with 7 turnovers and 8 fouls in ninety-seven minutes of league play. Last week we caught up with a few of Fatty's old teammates to hear what they had to say about their old friend.

John Diaz on Fatty:
"The one Fatty moment that I will never forget is the time that he and I were on a fast break together. I had control of the ball with one defender to beat and I noticed Fatty streaking in behind me. Even though it was against my better judgement, I decided to pass the ball back to him in hopes that he would be able to convert the layup. Instead, the ball went through Fatty's hands, ricocheted off his head and came right back to me. The defender had shaded over to Fatty when the pass was made which allowed me to make the easy lay in. That was Fatty's only career assist and after the game he told me that it was the happiest day of his life."

Essa-Abu Kaleel on Fatty:
"He was always a phenomenal teammate. The type of guy you could count on to cheer you up when things weren't going so well. To this day I still contend that he was one of the most athletic players I've ever played with. Campi sure could dunk!"

At this point in the interview we reiterated to Abu-Kaleel that the interview was supposed to be about Fatty Ough. He just gave us a skeptical look and replied with, "Who?"

Geoff Abbott on Fatty:
"Oh, I love that song! Ooh-hoo, Fatty Ough, lives his life from inside of a room! Yeah, great song". We presume he was thinking of the song Jackie Blue.

That concludes the story of Fatty Ough.
