You're still here... more than I can say for a lot of people who start this game.

[I figured I should get rid of the one item in the Tutorial I haven't done...]

Hard to say. I think the game is not a real sim like a lot of people may expect. It is a hard game to learn (I'm not there yet) and every season brings new difficulties.

Hope you stick around... it can be a very fun game.

What are you having trouble with? The best way to learn is to ask questions or to look through the forums.

If you are completely lost, you could ask for a mentor. There is a thread in the USA forum specifically for this.

The why and how you win games is something that will take some time to figure out. I have a basic idea of what to look for... but I've only been here for 4 months. I know others that have been here for longer still are confounded by why they win or lose games.

Some basic advice:

1) Get your roster down. 15 is OK... but getting down to 12/13 is optimal.
2) Figure out what you want to train. Remember that training is better for younger players. Also remember that you are going to be training more than one player (you train by positions played in the game).
3) Scheduling a scrimmage every Thursday is critical for training purposes. In order to get fully trained for that week, a player must have at least 48 minutes played in a position that is being trained for the week.
4) Be careful on the transfer list. Especially now... prices are going up as we near the playoffs. Depending on where you are in the standings, it might be best to hold off on buying anyone off the transfer list.
5) Also with that in mind... it isn't necessarily the worst thing to not be promoted to V.4 next season. I had to stay in V.5 this season... but will be much more prepared to actually compete in V.4 next season. If I was promoted after last season... I might be looking at a return trip this year.

If you have any more speciific questions (especially with regards to roster decisions), BB-Mail me.

I am assuming that you are saying that being at 12 / 13 players is optimal because of playing time / training ability . . . is that correct? If I am in a private league, public league and scrimmaging every week (or tournament), that provides for 5 games per week --- that should be enough to develop 15 players shouldn't it? I guess my concern is having a couple players available to step in if there is an injury.

Thanks for your comments.

You are correct in your assumption that 12/13 players is optimal for training purposes. However, I believe you have an incorrect assumption in your statement. Only the two regular season games (Saturday/Tuesday) and the optional scrimmage (Thursday) count towards building minutes for training. Private League Games (Friday), while very fun and extremely useful in other ways, are not counted towards the minutes for training.

I used to have 15 players... it just becomes really difficult to juggle the lineups to get wins and get to optimal minutes for game shape/training.

Good luck in the playoffs. I might be seeing you in a week.
