Hello, I have this trainee (34136198) that is continuously fouling out and it is really affecting his development. The last game he played 18 minutes and got 6 fouls.

Will this stop when he becomes better defensively or will he always be a bad egg? Persevere or get rid and focus solely on my other prospect?

Super aggressive. He will always be that way. With better defense, slightly better but still will foul and foul out.
Try to sell for a good amount and hope they don't notice the foul trouble.

I thought that Stamina may also play into their foul rate. If they are exhausted mid-game they would be more likely to fail on a play, especially a defensive one when the opponent is more skilled. I am looking for more information on Stamina as well, I initially believe that it has an efficiency calculation in everything the player does in game.
I wouldn't be surprised if Stamina had a positive (though slight) effect in training.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Most of your post is right.
Every offense and defense needs Stamina to be successful. Defense needs generally more Stamina than Offense. A defensive player has 4 defensive skills: OD, ID, SB and Stamina. At the beginning of the first and third quarter your players have a higher Stamina, which results in better defense.
But Stamina won't change his agressiveness. An agressive player will stil play the same way, he will just have more success (steals or blocks). And with low Stamina his defense will drop fast and he will foul more.

His SB is only 2 and ID has just popped to 5 so there is plenty space for improvement. I am training ID at the moment but it is taking longer than expected as he fouls out most games.

might change over time, but in general, probably not.

eg: (18084302)

although i do agree with what everyone else says. If he has low stamina, and low SB and low ID, then these will all contribute.

I have a similar player. im looking at playing him defensively at PF in order to try and minimize his fouls. I just have a sneaking suspicion that when he plays at C, he tries to block everyone. and so he should, but im going to experiment with him at defensive PF just to see if i notice the difference.

His OD is probably 1.

This is the reason of him fouling out.
