Not a bad season, GJ. It's very interesting to see how many Scottish talent there will be after the Utopia draft. While we save money)

Thank you! I'm also very excited about this new feature. My utopia team will be ready to buy them! :-)

Yes, a great season indeed! Especially since I hope this season marks a start into a new bright future of great scottish NT players!!

3rd friendly, 3rd loss. Although it's just a scrimmage, I do not understand how their 6.5 rated Center scored 36 points in the paint against Elliot MacInally

I am very happy about the GS of the players! Hoping to see more of that next season.

3 losses for Scotland's national teams today: BB-NT, BB U21 and Scotland's loss against the Czech Republic at the Euros. The last one obviously hurts most... Looking forward to that game on Friday

Well, I had my suspicions confirmed when I had a look at the boxscore. My guess was that he put a guard at C and played Patient. And that's exactly what he did. A tactic that doesn't work most of the time on NT level and even at U21-level it's not always successful. But the tactic "patient" does favor one player who has the best matchup (or rather missmatch) and gets him the ball as often as it can. So in this case he has Jump Shot around 12-14+ and Elliot MacInally probably has some Inside Defense. But I'm pretty sure he does not have Outside Defense of 12+. And that's why the game engine favored that guy to let him score those many points. I myself used the same tactic last week with Rory MacChlerich, putting him at PF (which was also because I played a 1-3-1 defense as well, but I thought he might create the best missmatch at PF - worked out even though we didn't get a shot at winning the game. But that's another story. So that's why his rating isn't great, rating only looks at the position a player is supposed to play. At PG he probably would have 10-12+ rating. And: he probably had a defense-switch, letting him defend at PG or SG and letting one of their frontcourt players defend MacInally.... also something that I have used occasionally when we had great defenders (blocking 20+, ID 20+) in germany, putting those players at SG because of their great passing skills and letting them defend at C or something alike. There are quite a few possibilites that can be explored. I hope you could follow my explanation/ analysis

Russia and Germany also started the euro poorly, so we are comrades in misfortune)

As far as I know, zone defense works well against such tactics. Zone 3-2 is a pretty solid defensive tactic

Yes, 3-2 is great. Doesn’t hurt too much the inside defense and helps to kill outside offenses or patient most of the time...

2-3 still doesn’t really work as it should. So I wouldn’t use that one in a competitive game if it can’t be avoided. But i’m pretty sure that there are going to be changes in the game engine...

Tournament: 4-4
Scrimmages: 0-4

A big reason for this is that we 'lost' MacShimes and Boyd.
However, I am very happy about how the other players are developing: MacInally is our best inside player since Losiak, Blair can play all 5 positions, Elphinstone and Clanachan are good backups, King, Greusach, MacNuir, Hardy and Dobbie all might become our starting guards.
There are many average players who need lots of training. Make sure that your player:

a) plays at least 48 minutes per week (not more than 75)
b) is part of your training plan
c) does not become a wasted talent

Only one week until the draft. Exciting times for an U21 coach (who would love to coach the team again next season)

Alba gu bràth!
