Hello all-

I'm a new team in a small country (14 teams). So, I'm in DI. I only have 750 season ticket holders. I see bigger, older teams making ~500-600k a week in revenue (Our league average is like 330 and thats with 6 bots/unactive teams + me pulling it down).

I'm very scared of the salary floor. next year. In our league its like 240k per week. Last week I made 230 in arena revenue. If I make that much next season, I will only make like 50k per week and I will never make enough to buy good enough players or expand my revenue. So, I'll be stuck with no money because of the salary floor.

My question is: when will my revenue match the other teams? I make 30 k in merchandising and 230 k in revenue. The average team in my league makes 100 k in merchandizing and 300 k in revenue. Should I invest in a better PR person? Or will I get more season ticket holders next year? Will I immediately ramp up to whatever the big teams have or can I expect to have my revenue get bigger over the next couple seasons until it (eventually) means I can sell 15k tickets.

My goal is now:

1) Train some players
2) increase arena size, then lower ticket prices. I'm hoping to have a 12k arena by the end of this year (9000/2000/500/50).

You have a 7000-seat arena, all other teams have a 20,000-seat arena, in other words, your arena has 35% of their capacity, increasing your arena size is the way to go to match (or be close to match) their revenues. Invest in your arena first, this is the key to make money.

Before you go too crazy throwing money into your arena, you might want to read through this thread first: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thread=273468&m=1

Building seats you can fill is the key. Welcome and good luck.

This is a good plan. Might also want to budget some of your funds to try to pick up enough salary during the offseason to reach the salary floor or you will be paying like 200k a week for no production.

The merchandising will increase when you add better players. Vietnamese players will add more merchandise than foreign players. Players you draft will add more merchandise than players that you buy on the TL. Players on NT and U21 players will also see a merchandise boost if they plan in a U21/NT game that week. Your revenue every week will increase as you build your arena. You probably won't have to lower your bleacher prices as 9k is small for DI.

There is no clear consensus about the value of PR managers. I personally have a basic one with the National Appeals speciality which gives you a small number of points during away games.

Just pick up some cheap veterans to reach the salary floor next season, and keep expanding your arena. Don't worry, you'll soon catch up with the rest of the league.

Also, since you're in div 1, you are free to throw any cash into the arena, it will return rather quickly.

In D1, I would advise to go with those who suggested building as much as you can and don't worry about results for a while. Unfortunately you're in a different situation than most managers, competing for you would not be challenging, it would probably be impossible, because the gap with the others is too big. You need some patience.

Phyr's advice is sound, but I'd rather invest in one player who is a good a scorer and play Patient tactics every game. This player will be among the top scorers in the league and you will improve the merchandising, without having to acquire many players.

I would usually advise against spending money on the draft, but since you're in a micronation Vietnamese players won't be easily acquirable other than in the draft. Research on the forums or ask someone advice how to spend your scouting points.

Draft best possible player even though this is from Lemonshine. I tanked last season with my utopia team without any staff members unfortunatley and got one good player out of it. Even though the risk of tanking is too large in this game I found out the effects of tanking and would advise against it. But the one good thing is I have a 7-4 record in league play and made it to the 2nd round of the cup which I did last year. Attendence is really low about 25% each game I think after this season it'll go up significantley.

Now with my first game I sell out almost every game right now the sequ3ence was 100% sell out and 79% in tickets sold the last three games the last one I sold out a 100%. So Does tanking have a impact on your attendence revenue but it increases merchandise in the long run.
