Article from the Oregon Gazette (5-27-2022)The Cougars have been doing well since DrChristopher the new manager has returned to the clubhouse. The team’s last 6 competitive games have led to 4 wins. Rising back to 4th place and 5-5 in the Big 8 conference. As well as moving to 2-2 in the round robin play in tier 14 of the BuzzerBeater Madness Tournament.
In that time Connell seems to be showing steady improvement, but the team’s biggest leader has without a doubt been Doug “DJ” James
(50930695) who scored 49 points against the 8104 boys, 37 points against Utica Phantoms, and 39 points away at the lil jumpers.
The next three league games for Coos Bay are against top 4 Great 8 competition. So hopefully the players can keep this good form going. As for BBM the players and management both seem to be very aware that all remaining BBM games will have to be significant wins in order to remain in with a shot at making the knockout round of 64.
DrChristopher was quoted after the team's low scoring win against Klupčiukai, “Yes, I do watch the games. Our team is wearing blue, I mean white… Yes, white jerseys. White jerseys, final answer.”
The fans seem behind this manager, but this reporter remains doubtful. Keep glued to the Gazette for all Cougars updates.
