season 53 finds the team in transition.
a smooth switch to training full time only 3 players. very good training pace. solid finances. the club has enver been better in terms of long term strategy.
financial flexibility was achieved by selling of Bayram Abbasoglu who ended his 10 year stint with the club finishing 3rd in games played, 9th in points, 4 th in rebounds, 6th in passing and most likely first in blocks. cashing in on him added to our reserves and allowed us to remain undery the salary cap in d2.
club legend Florentin Antohi retired as well. all time leading poits-scored (over 10k) and assits (1.9k), games played (~600) and top 3 in rebounds. fan support did dwindle but recovered. his contribution to the team marked the most successful window of the club's history and his arrival sparked and revitalised interest from leadership to invest in the team. it was his contribution as a 6th man off the bench as a skilled perimeter reserve that made a difference in the only 2 championships in team history.
in his place, homegrow Florica Matei is on track to continue both legacies. with his set of skills he might match Antohi's record in terms of GP. while the team deliberatly chose to forfeit Florica's pinnacle in order to focus on the next wave, we hope florica will sheppered Serban Toma as the next generational player in what most likely be the last championship run.
overall the future is bright, even if the present and near future might seem dull. the roadmap is there. we are doing our best.
