End of an era - Tata to pull out of Tallfellas

The tallfellas are looking for a new sponsor after British Steal magnate Tata said it had decided to pull out of Buzzerbeater, after more than 30 seasons of sponsoring the Tallfellas franchise.

"It's a shame they feel they cannot support us any more," said Hugh Stare, chief operator at the Tallfellas. "But I'm sure we can find another sponsor at the end of the season."

Stare denied he had asked the government to bail out the impoverished Tallfellas organisation. "We're not going to be called National Tallfellas, no" he said.

Early frontrunners for the sponsorship are thought to include plastics giant Betterware, grocery chain Lidl and the wine bar firm Balls Brothers.

"I'd put a fiver on Lidl," Stare whispered.
