“Jamaica blaze, Albania won’t burn.”

NT Tournament Seeding/i]
Albania97
Jamaica 70

With only two games left in NT tournament seeding. Jamaica looked to advance rank with an upset over a formidably balanced Albania.

The teams tangled in the first half with Albania jumping out ahead early and protecting a small lead through the half. Jamaica contested every possession and handled the boards effectively. They slowly gained ground and went into halftime 9 points down.

Jamaica’s offense had difficulty converting stops to points down the stretch. Albanian PG T. Berbatovci, who had the hot hand early would go on to lead all scorers with 29. Albania keeps out of foul trouble to take the win going away.

Jamaica fans in attendance gave their team a standing ovation in the final seconds of the match. The 92nd ranked team from the island nation had contested the 65th at times to a standstill. Albania survives, but takes a warning for the future.

Notable Performances
ALB: T. Berbatovci 29 pts*, F. Sahitaj 16 pts, 14 rbs*
JAM: L. Feeney 26 pts, L. Gorman 13 rbs
* = Game High
