Good to see these few of us here for Season 54. Welcome to botsville, Sterling Archer. Looks like (predictably) all the best prospects in the draft went to bots. I enjoy lively forums, so I'll try and post here from time to time. Feel free to jump in.

Looks like the first night of league play sees only one non-bot contest: Qmoney @ The Orchestra. It should be a fun one- a rematch of the (significantly reworked) teams from last season's semi on the blue side.

And, we'll see the beginning of both the USA Cup and BuzzerBeater Madness. Everybody starts off facing a bot in the cup, so no drama there. And who knows what BBM will look like...

It was close until the fourth. Good game, None.

The only game without a bot this coming Tuesday is The Orchestra @ Seattle SuperSonicz. Should be a close one! We'll get a chance to see what the top of the blue side will look like this season.

Season 54 we lit!

Oh, man!!! It all comes down to Cecil Bruno missing a dunk at the buzzer. Let down by the new guy! Good win, iBeStrugglin. It looks like I'm the one who's struggling this season, starting 0-2 and falling to 7th place in the Big 8.

Qmoney in Tier 10.
Bulldogs & California Supreme in Tier 11.
Sonicz & Orchestra in Tier 12 (along with Qmoney II and California Supreme II).

After a good old-fashioned night of bot-smashing, the league's humans remain in the cup along with 5 of the bots.

And last night's BBM outings were positive in Tier 12, but nowhere else:
Archers fall hard to a Cypriot team to go 0-1 in Tier 5.
Qmoney nearly pulled off a comeback against a strong Aussie squad, but ultimately lost in Tier 10.
Bulldogs lost a defensive showdown with a Utopian from Moldova & California Supreme was trounced by a Hong Kong team in Tier 11.
In Tier 12, Sonicz benefited from their French opponent's forfeit & Orchestra's defense stymied their Turkish Utopian opponents while Qmoney II obliterated their Serbian opponent and California Supreme II rode a tactical mismatch to a strong victory against a Lithuanian team.

A week has passed and all the league's bots are out of the cup. Sadly, Seattle SuperSonicz's default lineup only had three players in it, so half a team of lucky fans weren't enough to keep its bot at bay, so only five teams remain from IV.54

BBM results improved from last week.

Archers (1-1) redeemed themselves in Tier 5, taking down a Slovenian team behind a great night from Pereira Lopes.
Qmoney (1-1) comes out on top vs. a Utopian team in Tier 10.
In Tier 11, Bulldogs (1-1) surprised their Spanish opponent and took them down. And California Supreme (1-1) rode free throws to victory over a Lithuanian team.
In Tier 12, Orchestra (2-0) engineered a come-from-behind victory over a Spanish team. California Supreme II (2-0) marched past an Uruguayan team. Qmoney II (1-1) had no answer for their Greek opponent's star power. Another lineup snafu left SuperSonicz (1-1) on the losing end of an 8-player game.

Match of the week is Bulldogs @ Archers on Tuesday. Otherwise, everybody's bot-smashing.

Thanks for doing these writeups. Your humble archers are going to get destroyed in both the Cup and BBM this week. I'm looking forward to the matchup with the bulldogs.

Oof... Sonicz take another dive. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of the end.

Week 3 has come and gone. All five remaining cup teams from last week made it past this round. Good job IV.54!! Good luck this next week!

BBM news was mostly positive again.

In Tier 5, Archers (2-1) edged out their Polish opponent thanks to a Tommy Tomlinson jumper with 9 sec left that capped a massive comeback in the fourth.
Qmoney (2-1) outclassed a 5-man squad from Hong Kong in Tier 10 action.
In Tier 11, Bulldogs (1-2) got spanked by a tough Brazilian team. California Supreme (2-1) powered past their Spanish opponent thanks to a strong fourth period.
In Tier 12, Orchestra (3-0) outlasted their Emirati foe to snag a win. California Supreme II (2-1) got hammered by their Italian opponent in the second half to suffer their first BBM loss. Qmoney II (2-1) shredded their Lithuanian opponent to keep their tournament hopes alive. And the Sonicz slide continues with the 3-man lineup leaving them 1-2.

Next week starts inter-conference play. Match of the week is Qmoney @ California Supreme on Thursday, where we get to start seeing how the two sides stack up. The only other chance at a game is if Sonicz come off of bot-watch and fields a team against Qmoney.

Week four ends with Qmoney as the sole survivor in the cup, fending off a 3rd quarter surge @ the Tenacious Turtles. Everyone else had relatively uneventful games against tough opponents.

In the world of BBM:

T5: Archers improve to 3-1 behind strong defensive play against their Spanish foe.
T10: Qmoney (3-1) rained down 14 threes and 25 from the stripe to top their Utopian/Slovenian opponent despite disappointing field goal efficiency.
T11: Bulldogs (2-2) pound out a win versus a Greek team of mostly US players. Cali Supes also took down a Greek team to go 3-1 and keep their bracket hopes alive.
T12: Orchestra (3-1) couldn't overcome a slew of turnovers and failed to complete a potential Greek sweep for IV.54 this week. Cali Supes II (2-2) failed to start a SG and gave the game to their Macedonian foe. Qmoney II couldn't stop their Spanish opponent's twin towers and falls to 2-2. The Sonicz mark two weeks without a login by imploding against a Macedonian team to go 1-3.

The Orchestra gets all the excitement this week, facing both the Bulldogs and Archers. With Archers far and away the league's dominant team, we'll call the Tuesday game the match of the week– pitting the two 6-2 teams against each other.

And in other news... California Supreme adds a $40k Estonian PF (!!!) to make things interesting.
