I meant to do this before the finals started but I was going to do a preview of the finals matchups for the EBBL and Div 2.

EBBL
Durham Wasps Vs Optic Fibres

This looked to be a tale of 2 styles, the best defensive team against the 2nd best offensive team (based on points scored/conceded). Durham Wasps have won the EBBL title 3 times and have proved they are capable of winning it all. They came in to the playoffs with the best record in the EBBL giving them a home-court advantage. Optic Fibres topped the Big 8 conference with a 16-6 record and have the star power in Needham and Bujalska to lead the team. Optic Fibres have never won the EBBL title, and in only their 4th ever season in the EBBL they have put themselves in a strong position to claim the title as the champions of England.

Game 1 was a low scoring affair as the Optic Fibres stole game 1 on the road 77-76 on the back of 2 double-doubles from the big guys. Durham Wasps took the early lead with a 25-12 1st quarter, however, Fibres didn't give up and slowly chipped away at the lead, eventually taking the lead with 10 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. A tip in from Dallas Schafer with 2 seconds left sealed the victory for the Optic Fibres. Game 2 on Saturday where a new first time champion could be crowned.

Div II.1
Bromley-By-Bow vs Falcons Heywood

Falcons Heywood were relegated from the EBBL but look to have decided keep pushing back towards the EBBL as they haven't made any significant transfers during the season. They finished the season with a 14-8 record, good for 2nd in the Great 8 conference. Bromley-By-Bow had a strong season finishing with a record of 20-2. Bromley-By-Bow are an up and coming team, only in their 8th season as a franchise, and they have made the playoffs in each of those 8 seasons.

Game 1 went to the home team in a 112-97 game. The score-line doesn't tell the tale of the game as it was a close game throughout. Bromley held only a 2 point lead at half-time. The Falcons stayed close during the 3rd quarter but Bromley were able to pull away going in to the 4th and never looked back. Game 2 should be exciting in this one.

Div II.2
Pillow BC VS Porzigod

2 teams with little EBBL history with Porzigod only having 1 season in the EBBL and Pillow BC never being there! Big series for both teams. Pillow BC go in to the series with home court as they finished the season with a 20-2, although one of those losses was against Porzigod.

Game 1 was dominated by Pillow BC to retain home court in the series. Pillow BC won the game 129-78, however Porzigod gain enthusiasm in the loss so this series is far from over.

Div II.3
JA Miami vs Nutwood Nets
(Not jealous in the slightest)

Again 2 teams with little EBBL experience with only JA Miami playing in the EBBL for 1 season. JA Miami has had a perfect season going 22-0 and being comfortable in almost every game with Team Nook the only team going close. On the other hand, Nutwood Nets have battled through 2 away playoff games to make the finals so they're ready to try and cause an upset.

Game 1 went as expected as JA Miami won 95-80, dominating the 2nd quarter 28-9. Can the Nutwood Nets win gamne 2 to make it an interesting series?

Div II.4
Cambois Donkeys vs MILF Hunters

The only division 2 series where both top seeds face each other in the finals. Not only did both teams finish top of their conferences, both teams finished with a record of 19-3 with the Donkeys having a better PD giving them crucial home court. Despite being in their 48th season, Cambois Donkeys have never made it to the EBBL. MILF Hunters are a much younger franchise having only being around for 7 seasons and have also never made it to the EBBL.

Game 1 went to the home team 104-88. Don't count out MILF Hunters as they were able to gain enthusiasm. Game 2 and 3 should be close

Game 2 is in the books, here’s how they went.

EBBL
Optic Fibres vs Durham Wasps

Game 1 was a tight game which saw Optic Fibres taking a 1 point win, game 2 was quite the opposite as Optic Fibres completed the 2-game sweep with a 115-79 victory. Durham always looked the underdogs for game 2 after guard Richard Meadows got injured in game 1. Optic Fibres have won their first ever EBBL trophy. Congratulations to js8!

Div II.1
Bromley-By-Bow vs Falcons Heywood

Falcons Heywood were able to use home court advantage to force a game 3 by beating Bromley-By-Bow 109-101. Bromley-By-Bow were led by a fantastic 52 point from Jurgelionis but it wasn’t enough as Falcons Heywood had double digit contributions from every player who registered a minute of play. Bromley-By-Bow will hope home court advantage in game 3 tomorrow night can send them to the EBBL while Falcons Heywood will look to us the momentum of tonight’s victory will see them gain promotion.

Div II.2
Pillow BC vs Porzigod

Porzigod were able to overturn a game 1 blow out to win game 2 106-86. Porzigod’s defence proved strong as they held Pillow BC to only 34% shooting for the game, including a 2-23 shooting night from PF Ostojic. With a blowout win each so far in this series, game 3 is very unpredictable. Pillow BC hold home court advantage in a crucial game 3 as both team looks to find their way to the promised land.

Div II.3
JA Miami vs Nutwood Nets

In the only division 2 finals to be decided in 2 games, JA Miami competed their unbeaten season with a 111-96 win in game 2. JA Miami sweep the season but this game was far from easy as they were down 70-67 going in the the final quarter. However, just as they dominated the season, they dominated the final quarter winning 44-26 to win the game and win promotion to the EBBL for only the second time in franchise history. Congratulations to JA_Crusador!

Div II.4
Cambois Donkeys vs MILF Hunters

MILF Humters won every quarter of game 2 to cruise to a 103-85 victory following great performances from their bigs Ozkok and Watkins who both posted 20 point double-doubles. League MVP and former national player Dupre had 26 points on 11-17 shooting for Cambois Donkeys but it wasn’t enough. Cambois Donkeys may feel the officiating was affected by the home crowd as the MILF Hunters shot 27 more free throws than the Donkeys. Game 3 could go either way as both teams battle for promotion.

Game 3 round up time!

Div II.1
Bromley-By_bow vS Falcons Heywood

Bromley-By-Bow ran out to a 108-92 victory in game 3 of the Div II.1 finals to win promotion to the EBBL for the first time in franchise history. Bromley-By-Bow were led by PF Cunen with 35 points on 13-19 shooting, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Congratulations to SalimSasà!

Div II.2
Pillow BC vs Porzigod

Well... game 3 was very one-sided. Pillow BC blowout a weakened Porziogd team 149-81.Pillow BC were dominant in all areas of the game with 149 points on 61% shooting, 62 rebounds and 36 assists with only 4 turnovers. Pillow BC will also experience the EBBL for the first time next season. Congratulations to Ignas333!

Div II.4
Cambois Donkeys vs MILF Hunters

In the final game 3 of division 2, we saw Cambois Donkeys coming away with the title as they won 90-75 against MILF Hunters. The English trio of Dupre, Leavy-McCarthy and Tewari come up big for the Donkeys as the combined for 47 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists which is over half of the Donkeys production in those areas. The MILF Hunters were hurt early on as starting SG Sebestyén went off injured. Congratulations to CriticalHippo on their promotion to the EBBL for the first time in their 48th season.

Really appreciate the time and effort you put in to these write ups!

It's been a long time coming, with a lot of close calls, as well as my interest drifting in and out of the game, but I'm chuffed to finally make it to the EBBL. It'll take a hell of an effort to stay there, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Also really glad to see MILF Hunters will go up with their record, our final could have easily gone either way.
