Well, I'm back for another season, so I may as well get this thing started....

Welcome to season 29!

Anyone else notice a massive improvement in draftees this year?

There wasn't a single 5 ball potential player in the entire draft.....best potential in the whole draft was Superstar. That's pathetic 😢

When will BB learn that in this age of fantasy sports, we live for the draft?....but the BB draft is always boring and ends with a thud I bet fewew than 5 teams even invested any points into it....that's pretty telling.

Given your draft position, yeah, that sucks. My expectations were much lower, and since this is the first draft in years that I haven't gotten all 1k role players, I'm still pretty psyched. Really, not a single 5 ball potential player? Was your superstar guy the highest potential draft pick?

But that's the thing, in real life, every first round pick will make a team....In BB draft, most people cut most if not all their draft picks within minutes of them hitting their rosters...It shouldn't require investing a ton of money that takes away from other areas of your team to be a participant in the draft...or, if they want to maintain that way of doing it, there should be at least one reward in every draft for every team...Again, when you have teams that totally ignore the draft, that is telling.

I invested $40K per week knowing I would have the 1st pick in the draft...I revealed all but 5 players in the draft. So even spending max $$ each week, I couldn't reveal all of the players. So what good do those added features do that they added where you can see a players ratings? Who can afford to scout, interview, and do that? Its impossible. In BB everything you do, requires a sacrifice somewhere else....it's just weird to me.

Superstar Potential was the highest potential in our draft this season....My 1st pick the 18 year old Superstar Potential player sucks big time...not much appealing about him....but my 3rd pick is pretty sick...wish his Potential was higher...but he should be worth something to someone....

That's why I don't invest in the draft. 40k a week x 14 weeks = 560k. That's 18 y/o MVP territory right there. Plus you get to see the skills before buying. I'm hopeful they'll eventually get the draft right. They just need to see that people aren't investing in it anymore.

The way to do it would be dumping 10k/week for multiple seasons and not using the draft points until you're drafting high. With that said, I'm only sitting on something like 56 points and I cut off spending for more seasons ago as well.

This is exactly what I've done as I'm not a believer at all in the draft. I'm currently sitting at 62 points and don't plan on finishing last any time soon so the points will just sit there.

The $20 or 40K does add up fast...it all gets down to what your tolerance for the draft is. In my DIII leave last season, I kept finding reasonably good players, and I ended up investing more than I intended. But I got 3 picks I was very happy with. Mid-season another team sold one of the other better picks that was a 4 potential and basically all 6's and 7's on the skill set. I picked him up for $150K.

Depending on my Cup run, I will probably rebuild around those 4. 2 trainees, a productive inside guy that's not going to be trained but can play, and the other guy will also be able to play and become a pretty solid player without requiring the training attention. Obviously, that was probably a very atypical draft, but I have 4 players from it that could be a future core for about $200-300K (points and the $150K player purchase).

I didn't invest a dime in the draft last season and am now back over 100 recruiting points. I can cut back from the $40K and improve cash flow and still bank points.

Hey everyone, just a quick hello from the fresh meat in the league. I actually see one prior rival (hey Milwaukee Bucks!) who owns a 4-1 record against me, so I know a truly abusive, horrific experience awaits me here.

Looking forward to competing with you all this season!
