I was listening to Wang Chung when you injured Huang "Chung" Zhizhong .

Think I'm going to quit my main team. Too sad to continue...

When is the best time to get sell players? Is it too late in the season if I have all my better players with their auctions ending 1 minute after my game with the Clogs? (2nd to last game of the season).

Pretty sure (90%+) that I'm going to have a fire sale soon. (due purely to sadness, not some long term rebuilding plan). For anyone interested, I'm writing about my overwhelming sadness more in depth on my LiveJournal (invite only), and in the off-topic section of the OKML forum i participate in. (OKML = online knitting manager league). (266169.166)

Why so sad? You're in third place, and our brutal game could have gone either way.
I'm sorry about that injury, but I think he landed wrong on my player's foot.
I tell my players not to ever be anywhere near the other team's players when they are landing, in an effort to avoid injuries, but my players struggle with the concept.

You should just consider all of your players independent contractors. Really increases the bottom line.

Ha, good idea. Then again, staff gets paid the same regardless of how many players they serve. Might as well make them earn their money!

(actually it's a downright bargain, considering all the necessary prostate exams & other age related care. bet our team doctor never envisioned a career in sports medicine quite like this!!!)

Somewhere there's a joke about a Sourpis pickup line ("who has ten inches, no waiting, and two thumbs up? This guy!") and a prostate exam ("Mr. Sourpis, it's not two thumbs we're sticking up there") and I'm sure that it's uproarious. Or limproarious, I suppose, depending on if he's taken that magic little pill.

Not sure if it was site lag, or a bad connection, but BB apparently didn't accept my last lineup change after all. So I ended up with M2M/ inside guess, instead of a 3-2 zone/outside guess. Plus the wrong offense for my own team (though it's less bad than the defensive mix up). Seeing as I'm in a 1 point game ATM, it might cost me a win or even relegation. Oh well...

If the Sungrazers can win today & I can beat the Clogs I guess it might not matter too much? Other than delaying my fire sale.

p.s. It's heavily in the Big 8's best interest that I don't fall past 5th. (2 free wins + perfect minutes next season)

Yeah so I lost by 1 point due to that. Of course I could've set my desired lineup yesterday or something. But it seems a fair expectation that you'd be able to set a lineup whenever you wanted to? And that single pages on the site won't take 20 seconds to load.

I never understood why BB Charles (& later Marin) never just focused 100% on making the website run smoothly, having the standings update in a reasonable amount of time, and so on. Why not tackle that, instead of implementing changes that half the user base disliked, breaking the PLs for a couple seasons, and so on... Not to mention all the bells and whistles like achievements. (so IMO, save all that for *after* the basics are working properly)

I can't imagine any successful website/service that goes about things this way.

I'd be very frustrated if that happened to me. Sorry about that.
I agree that this whole site could run a lot smoother.

Seems to me that these stability issues have gotten worse since Utopia.

The site stability was really bad way back when BB was near its peak user base. So maybe there's something to that.

Actually, back then it was more of everything being massively delayed IIRC. Setting lineups was fine, but games wouldn't start on time, training was often half a day late, and so on.

Hello!!!... Hello!... Hello... hello.....

Echo!!!... Echo!... Echo... echo...

Our forums are unnaturally quiet.
Is everyone busy plotting devious moves for the post-season/offseason?
