Hoosier - I think you are actually doing very well. Your top 5 players are evenly spread, and you have 4 good backups. Meaning one good acquisition to the starting lineup would make both your starting and backup units among the strongest in the league. And you are making some profit everyweek to help with that.

Total payrolls can be deceiving, but comparing the top 3 players relative to that total sometimes provide for some good guesses. For example, I feel 2 teams are poised for a jump, if they want to.

BCB's core is intact (top 3 players total 208K + 4th is decent too) and they are pulling in a lot of profit each week by carrying only 5 more "scrubs" (9 players total). 2-3 acquisitions will put them into the upper middle of the pack both in terms of payroll and performance. Or they could take the core to DIII and rebuild from there.

OAK is also very interesting. Total payroll is slightly above league average, but their top 3 and top 4 players are actually already at LIB and POS levels. one acquisition to the starting lineup could put them over the top. But it will burn money to do so, so it's risky.

Also VDs look good for a nice run from now - they have the strongest (and most expensive) starting backcourt in the league right now.

Total Payrolls - plus/minus on accuracy because I manually typed the numbers over 15 minutes, and probably fat-fingered more than a couple. League average is where EDH is, so we have exactly 8 teams above and 8 teams below - so our median is at between EDH and Cross Chargers and we really don't have much skew at all.

Fern Creeks deserves a shout! For the 3rd lowest payroll, they have one of the best win records...In fact, their top 3 players have the 2nd lowest in salaries (lowest is petersburg).. In my mind, they are this season's version of last season's Cross Chargers - loaded on the secondaries! Which begets the question, what happened to last season's Cross Chargers?

In other news, biggest impact most recent acquisition so far is by the VDs (darn - they are my rivals)... 122K guard for 800k (nice buy) but catapults VDS from 3rd lowest payroll to 5th highest.

RL has been a beyotch and i have not been able to give anywhere near as much attention to my tean and forums as i once was able to do. I am glad to have been a bad influence on a few of you (cross chargers - remember, when your done with the fatties, you gotta roll out from under 'em and leave), and a default PTB/norm for the rest.

Complete mismanagement by Buzzerbeater game engine in my game today. I am down 2 with 40 seconds to go, and my team decides to intentionally foul three times to force free throws.

And to add on, for the last play of the game there were two seconds left when the possession began and I got a 24 second shot clock violation.

Last seconds in my game, down by 4 so we go for a 3-pter.....? Really? I need to train anyway....so fifth is looking better all the time.

What a crappy game last night for both Rocket Science and the Cross Chargers. Cross Chargers fail to defend their homecourt committing 24 fouls to Rocket Science's 9 fouls, with 2 starters fouling out. Rocket Science loses their center to a two week injury, opening up the Great 8 a bit for the stretch run.

finally - i figured out your success: it's all the fouls, hacking and intimidation.

I would have preferred a loss to my team captain being injured for 2 whole weeks.

Moore isn't a hacker but Jianpeng has shown a tendency for that throughout his career, being ejected at least once. Last night everyone got in the act. It was like a Heat-Knicks game from the 90's, with my team playing the role of both the Heat and the Knicks.
