Ok, noted. You didn't like the use of 2-3 zone which likely made point differential greater and wouldn't have been the preferred defense against this team, also noting the problems inherrant in that defense. Those are valid ponts though we may have different opinions. Maybe what we may or may not gain from that down the road might not be worth the points we gave up, especially if it costs us advancing in a tie. Only time will tell.


BTW, are you really so worked up about my comment about the Great 8 whining. Seem to be taking that personally. I actually fully agree with you that the JBBL is way too lopsided. Its just fun to see you guys get so worked up about. I wish they would do something to rebalance the conferences each season. That would allow us to get 2 games against new team each season as well.

until this side gets a little weaker, its going to be really hard to squeeze a trainee into the rotation. It really is unfortunate. As long as most of us are trying to stay in the cup, its really unrealistic for us to consider room for a trainee.

Now the Big 8, however, ample opportunity, not only to train an 18 year old, but to actually RUN THEM IN LEAGUE GAMES.

At this point looks like 4 free wins a season. Each day we only have 2 out of 4 meaningful games. I'm really getting annoyed with it.

Now you got me whining....... I guess our problems are the reverse of yours. It will be nice to get some real competition when we hit the other side. Though I will probably be hating the ass kicking by the time its over.

Stating a fact is not whining. You are not whining. Whining is losing a game and complaining about the refs..or saying a third party had some effect on your games outcome( Wolph in the chat)..
What I said after the championship last season was all facts....LI is too strong because there isn't a defensive tactic to beat it.FACT..Lots of managers are quitting the game do to this glitch in the game.FACT..Even myself..If I had to choose between BB or hattrick..I would choose hattrick..right now it is the funner game...Just stating the facts...

The core games of our U21 season start this week with a game against Khazakhstan(43). Following that are Malaysia(58), Prathet Thai(82), Vietnam(88). We have a reasonable chance to win all 4 games and qualify for the next round. Our current ranking is 78 but our team is much better than that this season and we will start seeing that number come down this week.

Despite the smal national size of Khazakhstan, they are not a team to be taken lightly. Last season they were 5-3. The season before they were 4-7 and qualified for the second round. Those wins included a victory over us in the first game of the season. I am ready to avenge that loss.

This is an imprtant game for khazakhstan, they already have 1 loss and and still have to face China and Hong Kong. So if they lose they will most likely have at least 4 losses and be out of the tournament. For us its a chance to essentially eliminate a big competitor and take a step towards advancing.

Our game is Monday at 9:30PM local time. I hope everyone will follow the game closely and root us on to victory.

The Nippon U21 National Team secured an important first victory over Khazakhstan in this year's Asia Championships by a final score of 91-81 avenging a loss to this same team in the last Asia Championships. Our team jumped out to as much as a 17 point lead in the first half but were unable to completely put the game away. Khazakhstan's relentless inside attack led to some serious foul trouble as starting our C and PF both fouled out of the game. However, the superior depth on Nippon U21 prevailed in the end.

SF Mitsuo Shibukuji of Sapporo Fighters and PG Shinya Umari of Kotets both led the way with 20 points each. Umari also had an impressive defensive performance with 6 steals on the night. With 11 boards, Norio Funaki from Yokozuna led the rebounding effort.

Next up for the team is Malaysia U21. This will be another important game for us. Malaysia has already lost one game to Prathet Thai and still have to face dual Chinese Juggernauts Hong Kong U21 and China U21. Losing this game will have Malaysia facing a minimum of 4 losses and likely out of the next round.

For Nippon U21 winning this game almost ensures us of advancing to the next round. With Malaysia, Khazakhstan, and Vietnam each facing at least 4 losses, by winning against Malaysia we would expect to be secure to advance if we attain a minimum of 3 wins. Our last two games are against Prathet Thai U21 and group powder puff Vientam U21. We would only need one of those two, but would have a good chance to win both.

As mentioned before, I have started a Federation where I will share what I've gathered about our opponent and some thoughts on the upcoming game. I invite the any of the active local managers to come share their thoughts and insights on our strategy and learn more about the team.

From the election debates it seemed there was alot of interested in such a discussion and I want to make sure that anyone who wants to be involved has the opportunity. Also if anyone wants to participate in U21 Nippon in any other way please let me know. I truely believe that we can always accomplish more as a group than any one of us individually.

Disappointing 4 point loss to Malaysia tonight. The game was back and forth the whole way but we couldn't seem to get the upper hand. Missed too many free throws and it seemed like we went through a stretch in the 3rd where we missed 15-20 straight shots.

This makes the last two games much more important. We need to win both the last two games. We get a week off for a bye to regroup. Next up is a challenging game against Thailand who has already secured two wins.
