Well the Clogs had the most efficient roster per dollar going into the season considering they made the finals without a 100,000 player.

What stunned me was the Riverdogs last season. Massive salary to carry.
But selling a second round pick for 745,000!

Wow. And then to make/win the finals with so many injuries. Surprising really.

There is a lot of balance at the top. No clear favorite at least not yet. However the Clogs are certainly making headway.


I did at one point earlier last season pick up a high salary guard, but it was a cheaper, older guy with a glaring hole so I could get him cheap, and I carried another ~35-45k guard most of the season as well. It just wasn't working, though - I didn't even keep Bustamente long enough for his GS to recover because I was getting hammered so much late in the season that I wrote off having a chance to promote, and I sold Hamby after another 6 foul game. But like the season before, I got back down to the core 9 man group that I've put together and things started breaking my way. Lord knows that my first round win was in no way deserved, just was fortunate that Mobile fouled out and the Pistons had no backup big man dressed.

I'm still only carrying the sixth-highest "top 5" salaries - but I did expand my lead in the 6th-10th salaries space significantly. I'm finally essentially done training the bigs as well, and I had the space to make the push, so it's as good a time as any.

Things could be worse though. You could be paying Otto Reedy 170,000 a week to play at Center [ :D]


Well, in full disclosure, once I'm out of the cup he will be the only thing keeping me close to the salary floor.

I think you should give your new guy & the rest of your starters the night off... let them go out on the town & build some chemistry. Play your scrubs vs. me instead!

I actually put it up to the team.

Their response:
"I don't want to wait, for the year to be over, I want to go and play the Lethargy.
I don't want to wait, for the year to be over, will we see dunks or will we see threes... by Yi."

I did neglect to thank you for the Karaoke machine you gave the team as a gift, complete with the CD of Paula Cole's Greatest Hit. I'm a bit frightened to see how the team is spending that much time with it, but I suppose I do have a roster that would rather be at Lilith Fair.

B. James could not stop M. Davidov. He fouled out early in the 4th sealing the win for you as Harrison was no match for Davidov.
Predicting you to play inside cost me the game. That first quarter was a blowout.

29 fouls for the game didn't help matters either.

Wow, I was actually beating you with 6 min left to go. Interesting.

Well after last season getting out-rebounded game after game despite having a 3 level advantage (proficient vs. average)... I only had a 1 level advantage this game & only got outrebounded by 7! Plus had 59 rebounds. Much better than my 30-something rebounds with proficient reb last season! Would you call this progress?

I do observe patient drawing tons of fouls
But it was unevenly distributed
I don't know how my 10k center drew 5 fouls on your 90k center
My offense seem to be gone for two quarters in 2,3 while playing almost the same matchup
Offense was balanced in 1,4 , each drawing 10+ fouls

Well, the thing about running an offense to get your GDP prediction to be wrong and to hopefully not be completely abused by your 3-2 is only as effective as the offense itself, which other than the second quarter was not particularly often. My donkey position last night was PF - 90.5 PP100 expected, 6 points on 21 shots actual.

That's definitely progress on the rebounding front. Maybe some day your team rebounding will be bad enough that you'll be able to win the battle of the boards. ;) At least last nights was relatively close, once you consider you missed 10 more shots. I continue to be amazed by Klein, who has no business being my leading scorer or having that many offensive boards. I suppose that's the payback for my PFs being donkeys last night.

Four of the last five times now that his center played 46+ minutes, he's had at least 5 fouls. That's just a problem with aggression. I have the same issue with Busch - there are just games where he decides that the best defense is a good elbow. One first half foul last night and fouled out in the third period.
