I agree that efficiency is a factor that must be considered. Remember the Naker efficiency debate of 1/17 vs 0/8? One thing where I think we would both agree is that 24 PTS in 24 minutes is a lot better than 28 PTS in 48 minutes. However someone coming on in garbage time and hitting 10 points in 8 minutes doesn't impress me as much.

It just so happens Dwight is my favourite NBA player, even though I am a Bulls fan and I love Rose as well. I have a Dwight jersey which is my only current one (my Pippen one is getting very old and too small now).

Perkins vs College Kid

Perkins stat line.
18 REB 6 BLK 2/3 FGS 5 PTS 1 AST.

Agreed

This is more true for the losing team where their stars are against the winning team's scrubs in the 4th as is the case of Ranga's game. Padding stats when being marked by scrubs is hardly worth any consideration for MVP

It's just a matter of opinion.

Exactly why i didn't bother to appeal. If you are willing to do the votes i am happy to go with your decision.

Hey C-Cat,
I would like to appeal the MVP votes from my game this week please :)

Link to game is here: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/36141573/boxscore.aspx

MVP write up is below:

Week 6 Part 3 (Leeroy Bored as hell at work style)

Viral Infections vs. Maggots 117 - 69 (36141573)

This match saw Nakers retirement village up against the Maggots and their rebuilding roster. The game kicked off in a pretty even fashion with both teams trading baskets and ending at 23-29 at the end of the quarter in favour of Naker. From then on it was just domination as the oldies schooled the up and comers and teaching them a valuable lesson in the process.

3 Yuri Abruzzese Viral Infections - Yuri was key to Naker's victory on this night shooting at just under 50% and being active on the board for a PG. He nabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 5 assists before fouling out after only playing 37 minutes. this earns him the 3 votes.

2 Nikos Fouskotidis Viral Infections - Nikos was the most efficient player on the court for his team as he shot over 60% and achieved a 20-20. That's 25 points and 20 rebounds to go along with his 5 blocks contributing to his teams success.

1 Onur Rasit Düs Maggots - Onur was the Maggots shining star on this night and tried to carry his team offensively. Unfortunately he missed 18 of his 28 shots but still managed 21 points and 10 rebounds and that earns him the last vote.

I propose that my SG for the match, C. Serre, should get the 1 vote instead of the opponent's player, O. Düs, for the following reasons:

1. Serre scored 26 points vs only 21 points for Düs.
2. Serre shot at 50% scoring efficiency vs only 36% scoring efficiency for Düs. This stat excludes FT attempts.
3. Düs missed 100% of his attempted free throws (6 attempts).
4. Düs got 10 rebounds vs only 3 rebounds for Serre, however, Serre got 4 assists and 0 turnovers compared to 2 assists and 3 turnovers for Düs.
5. Düs was only up against a 3k salary player, where as Serre was up against a 38k salary player and managed to keep this player at 5-21 field goals.

In addition to the above reasons, I feel that the score difference (48 points) should play a role in awarding the last MVP point to Serre instead of Düs.

Thankyou,
Virus

Fair Call. Didn't look into it as much as I should have.

Dude are u being serious? Its 1 vote surely u could let it slide like everyone else would?

Having said that even though i dont wanna deal with another of your appeals next week I'll keep it clean. Realistically u are right, Serre was better then Dus for the reasons you mentioned so I'll allow the change, but its just the fact that really its 1 vote what does this achieve apart from wasting peoples time, disrespecting leeroy and making a name for yourself as a sook?

Anyway as naker said, Serre not only scored more he did it more efficiently against a better opponent in Man to Man D. Despite Dus's rebounding Serre contributed more with his assists and didn't turn it over .Its pretty difficult to say Dus was better then Serre at all let alone in such a flogging!

So go nuts i reluctantly approve this appeal despite knowing I'll now have another one to do next week!

na dont be silly mate your doing an excellent job as is everyone else. It takes time and effort to do all the MVP's, you cant be expected to go into the same detail and analysis for every single game as people do for their own games. Just people need to lighten up realise its a bit of fun and be grateful that you and all the other MVP writers are going to this effort for our benefit...

At the end of the day would people rather have the privilege of having votes even if they may be off slightly from time to time? or sook up a storm so no one wants to do votes anymore and we have none at all?

naturally we wont the best of both worlds & why cant we have both?

we want the privilidge of having the awesome writeups that people like leeroy, bainsy, coachnoodles, tremell, yoda and whitebeard do they r much appreciated & i regularly give them a ball of thanks they give the league a focus

but we also expect them to be perfect and omniscient and be able to tell our cross matches in defence and current levels of enthusiasm who scored in the important phases of the match & who was a great help defender even though the game summaries dont tell them :)

i think the system we have is wondrous, awesome people doing it but a fair and unbiased method of sorting it out when there is a stuff up unlike in the tea cup where if you disagreed with the mvp u got booted out of the league

keep up the great work leeroy & everyone else

these are always opinions so even after the judge has ruled it is still just 2 opinions dont let the fact that not every1 agrees upset u

The whole MVP thing has always been just for fun. And considering I never have players long enough to win it, the fun I get from it is through the appeals process. I don't think appealing disrespects the original writer at all. I have written plenty of MVP writeups in the past and some have been appealed and I did not feel disrespected in the slightest. I doubt the writers will feel disrespected just because someone tries to appeal it. All the writers do a great job every week, and it is much appreciated, but if I see a reason to appeal then I shall continue to do so :)
