Draft is out!
Are you keeping your 6'0" guy Tungi, what are his skills like?

I'll start some scouting later on if yodabig hasn't posted anything. He's online now so has probably already started.

I've just looked through all the draftees in all div I teams and it looks like the draft this season has been pretty poor. Good potential but salary is too low or already 19, or quite high salary, but 19 or very low potential...
I had pretty bad draftees and already fired one player. Took me 0.001 s to judge whether I should sell/keep/fire him or not.
So the player that I'm probably keeping (unless I find a better Indian player) looks like this:

Weekly salary: $ 3 011
Age: 18
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: allstar
Jump Shot: average Jump Range: inept
Outside Def.: average Handling: mediocre
Driving: pitiful Passing: average
Inside Shot: awful Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: average Free Throw: mediocre
Experience: atrocious

Not at all that great but I guess if trained properly, he'll eventually be a good player. After all, one of my trainees who started like this when I bought him at an age of 18 is now like this at the age of 19 (turning 20 in a few hours time):

Jump Shot: sensational Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: sensational Handling: strong ↑
Driving: proficient Passing: strong
Inside Shot: awful Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: pitiful
Experience: awful

So if trained properly, he could be useful in the future. But only the problem is that my training schedule is pretty much based on my U-21 NT player, so I won't be able to train this rookie as I'd like to.

That rookie looks fine. 6'0" and 18 makes up for a lot of things. Yes he wont have training tailored for him but everything the 20yo gets will also be useful for him. A horrible draft for me my p-allstar SF type has pitiful OD and pitiful ID so that is for him and my next best is a 19 year old star potential guy. I will be bidding on a few guys in the coming days so still no idea who my three trainees will be this season - at least one of my vets will have to be a part of it and I may start off with JS just so the rookies don't cause too many issues early.

So you had a horrible draft too then. The chance of getting a horrible draft is waaaaay more than getting a good draft. Sometimes I question myself, is it better not to spend money on scouting and instead spend money to buy an 18 year old rookie?

Great work Rebel, I will have to look into how I mieed that last guy. All the teams that are going to go bot this week will have to be rescouted to see if they have any great draft picks as well. Saving 10 good players in the last weeks has been an awesome start but this is the best time of all when they are brand new 18 year olds.

I spend 0$ on the draft this season. I think I've understood that scouting is a waste of money...

That's really a bad news to know that no real interesting players has shown up this season. Hope that the current generations will be able to struggle against the world as long as possible. After a year as NT general manager, I can tell that in small communities like India, it is hard to motivate people to train players like we would like too.

I would have love to see a "all-time great" and some "Hall of famers" or "MVP" =P...

Well I wasn't expecting any star in the first place because my pick was 14th. But this season I'm hoping to end lower in the conference and get a good pick, so if this season's draft is pretty good, then I'm happy (but if not, i'll be pretty mad and hate the quality of the draft players :P).
As far as I can tell, the number managers in India who actually train players are probably less than 15.

Hey Hof great work and I have already got one of my buddies in Australia to get one of the Indian guys and he will be training him. Now we need to release all the ones that have already been saved and save the new lot. This will be the most important work this whole season.

It is really stupid but I read this in the forums:

April 26 (Tu): U21 Elections conclude at the end of the day (EST).

and here is our schedule.

4/25/2011 10:30:00 PM 43 Makedonija U21 -- 57 India U21 India SC

So you are actually in charge one last time. I would try to "blood" a few extra players as well as everything else. I guess we can talk about that game in the next couple of days but first our next lot of saves.

April 30 (Sa): Enthusiasm reset for U21 teams.

Good news, so we can still freely add and remove guys.
