Police say the man from Busselton, 50 kilometres north of Gracetown, was surfing south of South Point when he was attacked about 8:15am WSDT.Local residents have told how they tried to resuscitate the man who had suffered horrific injuries.Eddie Kilgallon was among a group of local residents who went to the man's aid and tried to revive him."We just kept on encouraging him," he said."We noticed that he had a wedding ring on, constantly reminding him of the people that do love him and we tried to give him their love."Mr Kilgallon says the man's injuries were HORRIFIC."The back half of his leg was totally chomped. It looked like one bite. It looked like a big shark bite," he said.
