Chelsea Seagulls vs. Viral Infections 91 - 100

The Seagulls came into this match favourites against the golden oldies from the Viral Retirement Village... Yet the oldies upstaged their younger counterparts, letting everybody know that they can put away the wheelchairs for another week at least. Strange tactics by the Seagulls considering that Virus never scores in the paint cause their players are too old to run that far down the court. At least this was an internal game between Calamari so Yoda’s brain fart wouldn’t cost the team.

3 Paco Garrido Viral Infections 32 PTS 4 AST 11.5 Rating. Lights out from downtown, shooting 5-10. Stood up and was counted when Tejera went down injured from what reporters initially suspected was a stroke.

2 Oliver Ðuričko Chelsea Seagulls 35 PTS 8 REB 4 AST 12.5 rating. Exploded on offense and was the most efficient high scorer in the game but couldn’t lead his team to victory in the clutch

1 Sandel Nica Viral Infections 33 PTS 5 REB 12.5 rating. Jacked up too many shots to get his 33 cost him his 3 MVP points but I guess if you keep shooting it’ll go down eventually right? He got to the line many times though, so this old dog still has some legs in him.

Koopasaurus vs. Kynlala Knights 54 - 79

The captain of the Sharks Koopasaurus come up against the Knights and their young guns. Defense of the young Knights totally smothered the Koop, with star recruit Wazza having a shocking offensive game. With injury to star PG Rooney, Koopa stood no chance from the very beginning. Only scored 8 points in the first quarter and 5 in the 3rd... WTF.

3 Shaun McArthur Kynlala Knights 28 PTS 4 AST 14.0 Rating. Future NT Star McArthur had another fantastic offensive and defensive game, scoring a cool 28 points from 11-17 FG and keeping his opponent Khan to 3-15 shooting.

2 Hector Pereira Kynlala Knights 16 PTS 16 REB 13.5 rating. Finally justified his salary, kind of.. Had a dominating inside performance, eating up rebounds and slamming on opponents heads.

1 Wazza Kennerly Koopasaurus 30 PTS 11.0 rating. Basically shot his team out of the game from the very beginning but eventually started making shots when the scrubs of Kynlala came into the game in the 4th. Needed 41 shots to score his 30 points, going 0-9 downtown whilst being guarded expertly by Dell’Asta.

Slam ! vs. Da Fat Boy Slim 96 - 101

Slam ! Waltzed into the arena with their 330k big man. Big man produced. Slam ! Fell short. Everyone’s favourite tankers Da Fat Boy Slim came away with a tight win against the underdogs. Looking forward to seeing what else 330k can produce in the coming rounds

3 Yordan Kasabov Da Fat Boy Slim 39 PTS 7 REB 12.5 Rating. Kasabov took over the offense tonight with the Fatties deciding to play an outside offense. Expertly shot the ball and racked up 39 points from 30 shots.

2 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 27 PTS 17 REB 4 14.0 rating. Made his Fishbowl debut and the signs were positive. Expecting more production from 330k in future rounds though..

1 Kye Duffill Da Fat Boy Slim 19 PTS 15 REB 13.5 rating. Locked down on defense and was efficient on the offensive end. His usual self.

Round 4 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler Style)

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Pancakes with Jam and Cream 65 - 112

A painful game for this Commisioner the Seagulls were outclassed in almost every aspect. Couto Costa was raining down bombs all night, Dowd and Long completly shut down the Seagulls PGs and in general the Pancakes were able to control the glass.

3 Plínio Couto Costa Pancakes with Jam and Cream 42 PTS 5 AST 16.5 rating. The man I expect to be the league MVP this season was facing the leagues scoring leader Oliver "Ducky" Duricko. With such amazing lockdown defence on Ducky that he went 2-18 on 3 point attempts you can forget how efficiently he scored his own 42 points. Sensational!

2 Maciej Kuman Pancakes with Jam and Cream 16 PTS 12 REB 16.0 rating. You get a lot for $160,000 a week and in limited minutes (he didn't need more) Kuman showed what a real player can do. Helped keep the opposing PFs to 3-19 shooting.

1 Jared Sherwin Chelsea Seagulls 6 PTS 17 REB 6 AST 14.0 rating. 6 points and fouling out doesn't usually get you a MVP point but considering he had the most rebounds in the game, the most assists in the game, the most offensive rebounds in the game and helped the Seagulls to actually achieve a better inside defensive rating than the Pancakes, Jared was able to say after the game,"I was drafted in the ABBL, I feel at home with players of this quality more than with the spazos on the Seagulls."

Koopasaurus vs. Zazzocalypse 55 - 85

The half of the team that did show up for Koopasaurus were thoroughly outclassed with only Wazza the man Koopasaurus traded the rest of their team to get putting up a decent fight. When you have to play Carl-Josef Kähler aka the Sheep Shagger for 48 minutes you know things are bad.

3 Gary Lawrance Zazzocalypse 16 PTS 21 REB 12.5 rating. Defence wins games and Gary provided tons of it grabbing every board in sight and keeping his opponent to 6 points.

2 Jorge Antonio Villarreal Zazzocalypse 32 PTS. While Gary brought the D it was Jorge that had the O shooting both a great volume and a great percentage despite being guarded by the one good player Koopasaurus suited up.

1 Wazza Kennerley Koopasaurus 32 PTS 13 REB 11.5 rating. About the only player for Koopasaurus who wasn't totally ineffective he still shot badly while allowing his opponent Jorge to score at will. Nicky Shipp after the game was heard to claim that he would have done better.

Viral Infections vs. Monkey Business 70 - 91

The Naker Virus tried his 5 man team experiment again with the usual results. 5 tired players just getting blown away in the 3rd 25-8 before they got to salvage a little in the 4th in garbage time. As usual Monkey Business had an even performance from their very even team. The Virus had his tactics right but the strong defence of Monkey Business allowed few easy baskets and by the end of the game most of the Infections had to be driven from the court, in a ambulance, straight to the transfer list! (c) Zyler.

3 Júlio Peixoto Viral Infections 23 PTS 25 REB 10 O-REB 14.5 rating. In a game where almost the entire Monkey team was effective, but none outstanding, as usual, J-Lio was outstanding. Top score, most rebounds and best rating in the game, he did everything his coach asked him to do.When interviewed about his performance after the match, Coach Naker said, "If you buy him now you get a free set of steak knives."

2 Eduard Deltell Monkey Business 17 PTS 7 REB. This could have been half a dozen players but Eduard distinguished himself with the best score for his team and keeping his opposing SF to 8 points.

1 Marco Manara Monkey Business 13 PTS 7 REB 13.5 rating. A solid performance was capped by the best defensive rating for his team.

Changed due to appeal:

3- Eduard Deltell
2- Marco Manara
1- Júlio Peixoto

Slam ! vs. Maggots 110 - 114

Few would have given the Maggots much chance against Slam ! and their $340,000 monster man Fanis Zoumpadellis but the Maggots hunkered down in their 2-3 zone, kept the ball away from him and in the second most exciting game of the round managed to hang on while their big lead of 12 with 2 minutes to go was wittled down to 4.

3 John Urwin Maggots 38 PTS 6 REb 14.0 rating. The Onion made everyone one Slam !'s eyes water as he stuck in dagger after dagger from everywhere on the floor. Slam ! may have controlled the paint but they had no answer for an Onion on the perimeter.

2 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 26 PTS 15 REB 13.5 rating. 340 did everything asked of him at both ends of the court and was the monster as advertised but while his guards did move the ball well into him, when they couldn't get the pass inside they were very innefective.

1 Dave Hamilton Maggots 26 PTS 5 AST 13.0 rating. There was actually a very tght battle at PG between Hamilton and Santrino Taliani but in the end Hamilton came away with the win and the MVP point.

Rampaging Marmots vs. Kynlala Knights 60 - 115

With the Marmots fighting relegation and the Knights looking at promotion the stage was set for a mismatch. With RabidCamel ordering a CT to clinch a citical win in league things got even worse. This was an ugly slaughter from start to finish and the less said the better.

3 Shaun McArthur Kynlala Knights 38 PTS 14.5 rating. McArthur claims he is now the key player on the Knights and tonight he was both scoring easily and being both brick and wall to his opponents Too Cool.

2 Eugenio Dell'Asta Kynlala Knights 22 PTS 24 REB 13.5 rating. Only 5 turnovers marred an outstanding night for the number two Knight.

1 Duong Tôn Kynlala Knights 15 PTS 10 AST 12.5 rating. Give the ball to Mac and Dell and get out of their way. Tonight it was that easy.

Melbourne Goldfish vs. Da Fat Boy Slim 79 - 73

There was so much feeling in this match that riot police were in attendance and the referees were wearing flak jackets under their uniforms. And the packed crowd wasn't disappointed with a match where the lead changed hands several times and Datz was up by 4 with two minutes to go until the Goldfish came swimming home with a 19-9 last two minutes. Both teams played the tactics that suited their teams but in the end some clutch shooting for the Goldfish got them home.

3 Xie Guanzheng Melbourne Goldfish 22 PTS 6 REB 4 AST 3 STE 11.5 rating. While it is not true that Xie had nails in his hand when he shook with Duff Duff at the start of the game it is true that he nailed everything when it counted scoring 7 points and a critical steal without a miss in the last two minutes.

2 Kye Duffill Da Fat Boy Slim 29 PTS 18 REB 14.5 rating. A fantastic performance by Duff Duff who is clearly one of the dominant big men in the entire league, was slightly soured when after throwing down a powerful dunk with just over two minutes to go he didn't even touch the ball for the rest of the contest except to inbound every time after Xie scored.

1 Jörn Bikin Da Fat Boy Slim 17 PTS 28 REb 13.0 rating. A dominating performance on the glass and fighting to the very end saw Bikin also dominate the big fish of abigfishy.

Round 5 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler Style)

Monkey Business vs. Pancakes with Jam and Cream 68 - 82

In one of the few games that things could go sour for the Cream things did get whipped up a bit. One team was not Monkeying around and in keeping probably the best player in the entire league, Plínio Couto Costa, to 5-23 shooting, showed that they can play some defence. Yakir Elbaz would have gotten a MVP point for this amazing feat if he hadn't gone 1-12 himself. In the end Monkey did find himself in a Jam as the Pancakes were both stacked and sweet.

3 Werner Efinger Pancakes with Jam and Cream 16 PTS 16 REB 8-12 FGS 15.0 rating. On a night where PCC just couldn't find the basket Werner was the model of effieiency. Scoring at a great clip and rebounding and defending like a man possessed.

2 Benson Babitu Monkey Business 20 PTS 8 REB 10-12 FGS 15.5 rating. Benson came off the bench and in 20 minutes gave a display of outstanding efficiency. This draft pick of Monkey Biz has been loyally toiling away to make his team better for seasons. His reward? He is up for sale and can be yours for a mere $750,000.

1 Maciej Kuman Pancakes with Jam and Cream 12 PTS 11 REB 15.5 rating. The other $160,000 a week player on the Pancakes did earn his paycheck this week playing his typically efficient, if unspectacular, game.

Zazzocalypse vs. Slam ! 115 - 100

In a surprise move Slam ! went away from their $350,000 man Fanis Zoumpadellis and instead decided to let all of their $10,000 players have a fair share of the ball. This was a very egalitarian decision which all supporters of fair play will applaud. While it didn't result in a win it was a great example of fair play that little leaguers all around the world can use as an example. The other news was that Zazz successfully did a Naker playing just 6 guys and one for only 5 minutes.

3 Tonko Švorinic Zazzocalypse 43 PTS 8 REB 6 AST 7-13 3PTRS 8-8 FTS 13.5 rating. While Slam ! went away from their strength Zazz didn't and Tonko delivered dagger after dagger from everywhere on the court. The boy can shoot from anywhere!

2 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 36 PTS 15 REB 17-23 FGS 14.0 rating. Fanis laughed at the puny attempt at 2-3 zone and was unstoppable every time he got the ball. But after the match the big Greek did comment that he was annoyed that "The little butsos hogged the ball" when they were shooting less than 33%.

1 Noe Diggles Zazzocalypse 9 PTS 19 REB 4 AST 4 BLK. There was a vast gap between the top two and the rest but a solid effort on the boards against the amazing Fanis gets Noe some props.

Melbourne Goldfish vs. Maggots 76 - 64

These teams were meeting the very next day in a league match so there was a chance for either team to try and use some misleading tactics which the Maggots did with their Inside Isolation. In the end the main factor was the Goldfish has a massive advantage in both defensive ratings and rebound ratings and their 14 extra rebounds no boubt accounted for their 12 extra points.

3 Xie Guanzheng Melbourne Goldfish 23 PTS 7 REB 12.0 rating. When your starting guards get 15 rebounds it helps on the boards a lot. Xie wasn't efficient but everyone struggled scoring tonight, few more than his opposite "The Onion" who was held to 10 points off 17 shots.

2 Christian Brakenhoff Maggots 15 PTS 5 REB 3 AST 3 BLK. No-one on the Maggots scored well but at least Christian did get some points up as well as contributing in several other ways.

1 Silvian Grigorescu Melbourne Goldfish 19 PTS 16 REB 13.5 rating. Silvain stepped up as the big man tonight. While "The Don" suffered through a horrid 0-6 night Silvain was both efficient and productive.

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Kynlala Knights 84 - 87

This was clearly the game of the round. Before the game most wouldn't have thought so with the mighty 15-0 Knights expected to utterly wipe the floor with the 0-4 to start the season Seagulls. However since that 0-4 start few have noticed the Seagulls have been 10-1 and a totally different team. The Seagulls would never have tried a low post with their old team and now...it just might work. It was a sensational game with Chelsea winning almost the entire game but with 38 seconds to go the Knights hit the lead for the first time since 3 seconds into the half then McArthur (who had been on 4 fouls since mid way through the second quarter but never fouled again) stole the ball to seal the win.

3 Héctor Pereira Kynlala Knights 24 PTS 13 REB 15.0 rating. In a game packed with stars it is funny that the best performance comes from someone who is relatively unknown to all but the Knights accountants who have to pay his weekly wage of $160,000.

2 Jared Sherwin Chelsea Seagulls 19 PTS 11 REB 5 AST 8-11 FGS 14.0 rating. Thriving in the low post the big Aussie ex-U21 team player showed his full range of skills scoring, defending, rebounding and passing.

1 Shaun McArthur Kynlala Knights 18 PTS 4 AST 6 REB 12.5 rating. Not his best night but when the game was on the line he stepped up with an assist and a steal in the last 38 seconds when one mistake would have given the Seagulls victory.

Viral Infections vs. Da Fat Boy Slim 72 - 85

This game was completly incredible for two reasons. Dudd Duff was shut down and had just 8 points but more amazing Naker played 7 players. However the game was decided when Nakers players decided to go on a random fouling spree and both his PG and his C fouled out.

3 Jörn Bikin Da Fat Boy Slim 18 PTS 19 REB 5 BLK. While usually overshadowed tonight was Bikin time, he was in the zone on defence having more blocks than every other player in the game put together.

2 Washington Tejera Viral Infections 19 PTS 24 REB. Not only did he get his own, but he shut down Duff Duff one of the stars of the entire league. His reward? A free one way trip to Poland. I hope he likes potatoes.

1 Luigi Antonio Dessì Da Fat Boy Slim 15 PTS 14.5 rating. The Mircowave off the bench in just 16 minutes he totally stuffed the stat sheet including going 100% from the field, the 3 point line and the charity stripe.

Rampaging Marmots vs. Koopasaurus 88 - 108

After initially selling off most of his team to buy Wazza Koopasaurus has decided to buy back a few players and is competing again. The Marmots lineup looks like they were trying to get their rookies some minutes for training so has most analystists completly stumped. One thing for sure when your starter can only score 1 point in 48 minutes there are some issues somewhere.

3 Wazza Kennerley Koopasaurus 49 PTS 8 REB 12.5 rating. The $4,000,000 man showed why he is a NT rep in this one and we hear that Koopasaurus representatives have sent game tape of this match to several ABBL teams fishing for a buyer.

2 Józef Urszulewicz Rampaging Marmots 25 PTS 8 REB 12.5 rating. While some of his teammates were looking through their Pokemon cards at halftime, Josef was wondering why he was the only Camel that was rabid.

1 Alfred Rooney Koopasaurus 12 PTS 10 AST 13.5 rating. The captain was his usual consistent self the one point of stability on the team this season that is full of sheep shaggers and multimillionaire underachievers.

Round 6 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler/Yoda Style)

Rampaging Marmots vs. Zazzocalypse 99 - 121

The bottom dwellers Marmots again continued their losing steak, this time going down to their own teammate, Zazzocalypse. It was relatively close in the first two quarters before Zazz ran away with the game in the 3rd, leaving the Marmots in desperate need of a spark to close out the season positively.

3 Jorge Antonio Villarreal Zazzocalypse 36 PTS 10 REB 6 AST 9.5 Rating. Had no problem scoring against the Marmot defense, running wild hitting shots from every corner. Contributed massively on the defensive end, ending up with 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Epic game.
2 Tonko Švorinic Zazzocalypse 21 PTS 6 AST 12.5 rating. Rounding out the domination of the guards from Zazz was the elusive PG from Croatia. Had a great night shooting efficiently and creating plays for his teammates.

1 Józef Urszulewicz Rampaging Marmots 29 PTS 7 REB 6 AST 13.5 rating. Did all he could against the guards of Zazz, but couldn't get it done alone. He must be frustrated by his teammates...

Melbourne Goldfish vs. Slam ! 87 - 95

The Goldfish walked into the Stronghold Arena knowing that they would be facing the tower that is Zoumpadellis. With the defense set to 2-3, they were ready to counter him. Unfortunately for the Calamari, and totally awesome for Team Kevin, Slam ! came through with star big big big man Zoumpadellis leading the way.

3 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 29 PTS 15 REB 15.5 rating. Totally unfair. End of story.

2 Klaudius Macko Slam ! 28 PTS 13 REB 12.5 rating. With everybody focusing on Zoumpadellis, everybody forgot about this guy, who quietly scored 28 points, 1 less than the big big man.

1 Ludovic Bay Melbourne Goldfish 25 PTS 5 REB 9.0 rating. The transfer listed guard tried his best before fouling out after playing 32 minutes.

Viral Infections vs. Maggots 116 - 94

Both these teams have been struggling in the Private League this season, stark contrast to their League performances. The Virus showed that the wheelchairs can be put away for another week, with a resounding victory over the Hamilton-less Maggots. It was later reported that Nica from the Virus required oxygen from a machine after going down in a friendly match with opposing fans, and will be out for 2 weeks. His pension will still be paid during this time.

3 Ginés Beato Viral Infections 32 PTS 19 REB 14.0 rating. Played against what seemed like a "Ghost in the Post". Easily blew by nobody, or ghost.. called Serra for his 32 points. Serra ended the game 0-7 with 0 points. Ghost in the Post.

2 Christian Brakenhoff Maggots 27 PTS 9 REB 10.5 rating. One of the healthy Maggots who had a great game, but apart from Urwin and Brakenhoff, the rest of the team took the night off.

1 Sãndel Nica Viral Infections 26 PTS 7 AST 13.5 rating. In what may be his last game in the private league (doctors say he doesn't have long to live), Nica had a typically good game, quietly scoring 26 points whilst Beato scored against shadows all night long.

Monkeybiz vs. Kynlala Knights 75 - 89

The Knights were looking to continue the domination of Team Kevin by holding down 2nd position behind Pancakes, and holding off the challenge of the best Guppy team, Monkeybiz.

3 Dimitris Patziaras Monkeybiz 36 PTS 14 REB 13.5 Rating. In a strange twist, the 3 points for best player go to the losing side this week. Patziaras was immense, keeping the scores close when the rest of the team wasn't contributing. Only 21 years young, looks like he has a good future ahead of him.

2 Héctor Pereira Kynlala Knights 16 PTS 10 REB 17.0 rating. Efficiency has become standard for the giant from Uruguay. Scoring 16 points off 9 shots in only 25 short and relaxing minutes for his $160k p/w paycheck. Easy.

1 Eugenio Dell'Asta Kynlala Knights 17 PTS 12 REB 3 AST 13.5 rating. Had a solid outing playing at Small Forward.

Pancakes with Jam and Cream vs. Da Fat Boy Slim 104 - 76
Midway through the 2nd quarter, a massive upset was looming, with fishy's favourite team Da Fat Boy Slim giving Team Kevin's Captain C-Cat a headache. Thankfully, skill prevailed and the Pancakes shot their way to victory, pulling away in the 2nd half and holding the opponents to 32 points in the 2nd Half.

3 jack Long Pancakes with Jam and Cream 22 PTS 5 AST 4 STL 15.5 rating. The old man still has it! 4/5 from downtown. This old geezer can lock away his walking stick.

2 Plínio Couto Costa Pancakes with Jam and Cream 27 PTS 5 AST 15.5 rating. CC had a poor shooting game overall but came through when it mattered most.

1 Jörn Bikin Da Fat Boy Slim 23 PTS 12 REB 12.5 rating. Did the best he could for his team when his other big men partners Duffill and Hawthorn didn't come through.

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Koopasaurus 88 - 86

Team captains for the Calamari and Sharks clash in an epic battle overnight. With the Seagulls out to prove they are ready for an ABBL birth at the expense of Koopa, it was going to be a tough night.. The Seagulls ended up prevailing despite 59 points from Australian SF Kennerley.

3 Wazza Kennerley Koopasaurus 59 PTS 11 REB 13.5 rating. Another instance where the best player was on the losing side. Wazza was absolutely immense, knocking down 23 of his 44 shots, 7-15 from 3. The only player that kept Koop in the game, and is, no doubt, the MVP of the game.

2 Jared Sherwin Chelsea Seagulls 26 PTS 15 REB 15.0 rating. Former Australian U21 player Sherwin again proved his worth, scoring 26 easy points in the paint against the struggling Koopa bigs.

1 Vallo Tammela Chelsea Seagulls 17 PTS 7 AST 12.5 rating. The Finnish player had another solid outing, proving that although he isn't a superstar, he is one of the most consistent point guards in the league.

Round 7 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler/Yoda Style)

Zazzocalypse vs. Melbourne Goldfish 98 - 86

Zazzocalypse is one of the form teams in the league at the moment while the Goldfish have been consistently inconsistent. Both teams had great defence both inside and outside and both teams rebounded well. Zazzocalypse had 13 more points from free throws and won by 12. Perhaps someone needs to be more like a fish and less like a fowl.

3 Chiu Choong Kuan Zazzocalypse 26 PTS 18 REB 4 AST 3 BLE 16.0 rating. For nearly $100,000 a week you would expect a good player and the Choo Choo train didn't disapoint steaming to the basket and derailing most of the Goldfish attempts to score inside.

2 Xie Guanzheng Melbourne Goldfish 27 PTS 8 REB 8 AST 13.0 rating. While it wasn't Xie's best shooting night he did stuff the scoresheet and nearly came away with a triple double as well as keeping his opponent to just 7 points.

1 Tonko Švorinic Zazzocalypse 21 PTS 5 REB 13.0 rating. While he scored a lot it was more his defence on the Goldfish PG Rymer who was kept to 9 points in a run and gun offence that gets Tonko over the line.

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Rampaging Marmots 108 - 80

The Seagulls were better in almost every position as the Marmots were far from rampaging, in fact only their PF So Weixiang was able to really contribute at both ends as the C was a non-factor despite the LI offence.

3 Jared Sherwin Chelsea Seagulls 22 PTS 23 REB 6 AST 14.5 rating. Not only contributed so much himself in an offence that rarely looked for him, Jared shut out $75,000 big man Dan Gardner despite the Marmots looking for him all night.

2 So Weixiang Rampaging Marmots 24 PTS 17 REB 12.0 rating. Simply the only Marmot who tried.

1 Oliver Ðuričko Chelsea Seagulls 25 PTS 12.5 rating. Got to jack up shots all night against a fairly average defence and loved it!

Viral Infections vs. Slam ! 90 - 116

Sick of playing with 5 players every week Naker decided to try playing with 4. Hard to believe but it wasn't a good idea despite the outstanding play of his lucky fan early in the game. Matched up against the lucky fan Alejandro Ascariz was able to explode for 33 points and make sure this one was blown out in the 4th despite being fairly close earlier before Naker lost his center and had to recruit a second lucky fan.

3 Fanis Zoumpadellis Slam ! 32 PTS 19 REB 5 AST 15.5 rating. A great performance anyway but when he injured Beato out of the game it was all over.

2 Júlio Peixoto Viral Infections 33 PTS 20 REB 13.5 rating. Despite the slight flaws in some of his team mates he kept it close until the 4th when Beato was injured and the whole team was put on the TL.

1 Alejandro Ascariz Slam ! 33 PTS 14 REB 8 AST 12.0 rating. At times it almost looked like he was playing against no-one, oh wait...

Pancakes with Jam and Cream vs. Maggots 106 - 70

The Maggots tried hard but were not in the same class as the Pancakes at all. This was the last hurrah for a very successful Maggots team that has now been sold to create a new team that can make it all the way to the ABBL and then stay there.

3 Plínio Couto Costa Pancakes with Jam and Cream 30 PTS 15.5 rating. He didn't do much else besides score and defend but when you hit every shot there aren't many rebounds and why pass?

2 Werner Efinger Pancakes with Jam and Cream 14 PTS 11 REB 14.0 rating. This could have easily been Larssen but he had more rebounds, less turnovers and a better rating. If C-Cat appeals I think he may rule in his favour.

1 Alejandro Serra Maggots 14 PTS 9 REB. While Unwin tried hard Serra's 7-8 shooting seems just a little better than Unwin's 8-34.

Da Fat Boy Slim vs. Kynlala Knights 73 - 75

One of the two matches of the round this epic and tight battle saw the Knights scrape home by a tiny margin for the second week in a row. Playing without their big man in the middle allowed Bikin and Duffill to look inside with a great deal of success despite the efforts of Dell'Asta, but it was the dismal efforts of the guards (4-24 combined) that finally doomed Slim.

3 Shaun McArthur Kynlala Knights 23 PTs 10 REB. McArthur pitched a shutout on Dessi keeping him scoreless in 37 minutes of futile play. Owned!

2 Kye Duffill Da Fat Boy Slim 20 PTS 21 REB 15.0 rating. In the battle of maybe the top two PFs in the league, not only did Duff Duff score and rebound, he playing in a 3-2 zone helped shut down the Knights innefective center.

1 Eugenio Dell'Asta Kynlala Knights 18 PTS 24 REB 13.0 rating. While he couldn't control Duff Duff, no-one could control him as he, like Duff Duff, also exploded to a double double double.

Monkey Business vs. Koopasaurus 102 - 87

The Guppies continue to impress near the top of the West and this was a big win over an ABBL team. However the Koopasaurus 2-3 zone was utterly exploited by the Biz's run and gun in which their top four scorers were their PG, SG, SF and backup SF.

3 Zoltán Bui Monkey Business 26 PTS 8 REB 14.0 rating. Bui dominated Rooney the way few in this league could last season. This great floor general led his troops to an easy victory.

2 Yannik Hohenberg Koopasaurus 54 PTS. Was seen inside the Infections oxygen tent after the game exhausted from jacking up so many shots.

1 Eduard Deltell Monkey Business 17 PTS 4 REb 13.0 rating. In just 21 minutes Deltell told everyone that he can play while getting a chance up close to watch Hohenberg dismantle Manara.

We have just received up to date scouting information on this match from Coach Monkey.

Haha....You might want to reconsider that if you knew what I knew. Deltell played at SF but I set my SF to mark the SG while the SG (Manara) was set to mark the SF. So really, Deltell was the one that got torched big time by Hohnenberg. And to compound the issue, Hohenberg was kept quiet right up until my starting SF fouled out. When Deltell came on, Hohenberg caught on fire and started the mini comeback. If anything, Deltell had more of a negative impact than positive given the points he gave up.

This is indeed highly relevant and I hope C-Cat isn't upset if I accept this appeal before it even reaches him. This is one problem with the box score, it gives no indication of who was defending whom.

So based on this last minute scouting information the One Point vote weii be changed to:

1 Marco Manara Monkey Business 24 PTS 13.5 rating. In just 42 rock solid minutes Manara did a rock solid job while cross matched against the mighty Wazza Kennerly, keeping him relativly quiet, while getting a chance up close to watch Hohenberg dismantle Deltell.

Round 8 MVPs (Iwen/Vios/Zyler/Yoda Style)

Viral Infections vs. Melbourne Goldfish 91 - 130

Unsatisfied with his experiments playing 5 players last week Naker tried 4, still unsatisfied this week he tried 3. Next season look to see him with 3 x 300k players and 2 lucky fans each week. Sadly the lucky fans gave up 18 turnovers to the Goldfish's full court press and while they actually scored more than Nakers C they didn't contribute much else.

3 Xie Guanzheng Melbourne Goldfish 31 PTS 9AST 4 REB 3 BLK 2 STE 13.0 rating. Being guarded often by a lucky fan in the zone allowed Xie to shoot an impressive 14-20 including 3-4 from 3 point zone.

2 Radosław Rymer Melbourne Goldfish 19 PTS 6 AST 3 STE. While he didn't have a wonderful shooting night he controlled the tempo in a very one sided game.

1 Júlio Peixoto Viral Infections 16 PTS 31 REB 15.0 rating. While he had 6 turnovers 31 rebounds is impressive by any measure. We have already had this debate about Michael Jordan and 4 girl guides vs an NBL team and so Naker gets his wish. Julio played brilliantly but his team was flogged by 40, 1 point.

Monkey Business vs. Rampaging Marmots 121 - 93

The second flogging of the week saw third placed Monkey Biz take on cellar dweller the Rabid Camel. Monkey won or drew every category of comparason and had more productive players at every position. Spank!

3 Shi Deguang Monkey Business 26 PTS 16 REB 10-13 FG 16.0 rating. One of the worst free throw shooters in BB history $50k Shi put up Smeltz-like numbers including an amazing rating.

2 Eduard Deltell Monkey Business 22 PTS 13.0 rating. Good shooting and efficient defence allowed Deltell to be able to tell the reporters after the game how it was him that dominated this match.

3 Billy Pin Rampaging Marmots 28 PTS 16 REB. Despite a bad match rating Billy actually held his opposites down quite well keeping the Monkey PFs to a total of 5-16 shooting for the game.

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Zazzocalypse 62 - 85

The horror weak for the Seagulls started with this match which some thought should have been quite close being dominated by Zazzocalypse from start to finish.

3 Jean-Philippe Meneau Zazzocalypse 18 PTS 5 AST 5 REB. Outstanding play by the Zazz guards took what should have been Chelsea's strength and made it their weakness. Proficient in both offence and defence JPM led the guards that won the game.

2 Jared Sherwin Chelsea Seagulls 14 PTS 18 REB 14.5 rating. Jared was surrounded by Seagulls that were thinking about chips on the beach rather than the game, but he was able to focus and kept his man to 6 points for the game.

1 Tonko Švorinic Zazzocalypse 14 PTS 14.0 rating. The other Zazzocalypse guard that was able to control this game, he didn't just run and gun he got serious at the defensive end and made nothing easy for the 'Gulls all night.
