According to the initial message of the discussion, a $4M arena provides a $25k increase in Merchandising which means that it requires 160 weeks (!!!) to be profitable. 160 weeks is about 11 BB seasons. 160 weeks is about 3 years.

Is there allready some more information about the 2M arena expansion?
At this moment I've seen only one manager who shared his merchandise boost:

If we calculate with the assumption of 4M arena= 25k increase, 2M arena= 20k increase, it looks like the 2M is more beneficial for a very long time.

4M/25k= 160 weeks to break even
2M/20k= 100 weeks to break even

In those 60 weeks we would earn 1.2 M with the 2M arena before the 4M would start to gain money.
And it would take 400 weeks (2M/5k) to make the 4M arena more lucrative then the 2M arena.

That means if you are probably not going to play this game longer than 400 weeks (=8 IRL years), it would be better to buy the 2M arena instead of the 4M version.

So if there are more managers that bought the 2M arena, please post your observations, because at this moment we are unsure about the +20k gaining.

I invested on a 2M arena because my treineers will have their peak in about 5/6/7 seasons, so i'll fight for titles at that time and don't need the money until then. ANyway, considering 4M/25k and 2M/20k, only after 28 seasons the 4M investment overtakes de 2M one. And my doctor predicts i can only survive to 25 more seasons

If the difference is only 5k/ week wich is about 1% from the total earnings for a DII team or even less for a D1 team, I would go for the 2M arena every single time.
Why?
- Because, if the case I referred to is true, I would gain money a lot quicker with the 2M arena than with the 4M.
- The possibility of me quitting the game within 4 IRL years, (or even the possibility of the game dieing on the long run)
is a big factor too
- In my opinion the difference between a 20k and a 25k player is not that big, and if we talk about a D1 player with a
salary of 100k and one with a salary of 105k, the difference is even limited to maybe 1 or 2 extra secundairee skills.

So if the difference in earnings between the 2M and 4M arena is only 5k, my opinion would be that the 2M arena is a lot better from a financial point of view. (unless you're planning to stay longer than 30 seasons offcourse)
