Well i have got the call up from the Overlord and have got the responsibility of handing out MVP votes for this week

Round 2

Home Axis vs Brisbane Thunder 125 - 74

Axis was ruthless once again crushing the Thunder in a game that was over very early. Axis's Full Court Press on defense squeezed the Thunders iso and picked the pocket of the the Thunder's players a whopping 27 times giving them 22 more shots and a spot up the top of the South table

3 votes - Home Axis - Irinel Stancu - 32 pts 14 rebs 4 asts 4 blks 2 stls

Urinal... sorry Irinel gets the clear 3 with an amazing shooting night 14-17 from his 48 minutes. Thats 82% folks! Considering the Axis side shot 50% as a team, which is still great, if Irinel has a horrid night and shoots 20% or worse this game gets a bit more interesting. Throw in 14 rebounds and 4 blocks his presence inside on defense was top notch. Game highs in points, rebounds and blocks. Expect to see Irinel in the votes in following weeks if this is what he is bringing.

2 votes - Home Axis - Ignacio Sánchez - 23 pts 9 rebs 3 asts 6 stls

The big men were dominant for Axis in this one with Sanchez also having an outstanding shooting night with 23 pts off 8-11 from the field. The 6 steals is a big reason in why he got the 2 here over some other players. For a big man this is impressive. What is even more impressive is Ignacio was part of the duo that made Outcasts top 5 vote getter to foul out in only 15 minutes. you have got to be doing something right.

1 vote - Home Axis - Hélder Amatriain - 28 pts 7 rebs 6 asts 6 stls

This is Helder's second mention in the mvp votes in 2 weeks. The 'hitman' looked as if he was playing poker out there. he saw the 28 pts 6 asts and 3 stls he put out last week and raised it some on the flop adding 3 steals and 7 rebounds. If only his teammates were playing worse he would have 6 votes right now not 3. The 12-25 was the reason he couldnt surpass Sanchez.

Eggplantpopolopolous vs Maggots 101 - 67

Eggplant was always going to win this one. another blowout, lets hope this isnt a trend for the Maggots. Maggots were looking for some balanced offense but with only good player on the court the result is no suprise. Eggplants winning all the meaningful stats makes it clear why it was 34 pts

3 votes - Eggplantpopolopolous - Gorka Baztarrika - 19 pts 17 rebs 3 asts 2 blks

shooting 7-13 with the double double is a nice outing however the defensive performance from Gorka gets him the 3. Keeping his opposing C to 0-9 and the 1 point in 41 minutes.

2 votes - Eggplantpopolopolous - Igotz Arranz - 20 pts 13 rebs 3 stls

Igotz 'igotz game' Arranz proves himself right by picking up more votes. He shot an almost perfect 8-9 and a perfect 4-4 from the line for his 20 pts. Like his partner in crime Gorka he played strong defensively but letting in 9 more points puts him just behind the spaniard... and not in that way leeroy

1 vote - Maggots - Christian Brakenhoff - 31 pts 10 rebs 4 asts

The only maggot to look anything like being a problem to the opposition with a game high 31 pts and 10 rebounds double double by shooting over 50% and keeping his opponent to a modest shooting night. About the only maggot you are likely to see in the votes this season. But unless the Maggots get some wins it will be unlikely he will pick up more that 2 or 1 votes a game

Western Titans vs Shepparton Shooters 68 - 52

Both teams trying to outsmart eachother got it wrong on defense but luckily enough for the Titans there firepower got them over the outclassed shooters. The 'Look Inside' and 3-2 tactics meant this one was always going to be one for the big guys offensively. It was a close game at the half with the Shooters holding a narrow lead at the half leading by 1. It certainly wasnt a shooting exhibition with the titans picking up the 16 point win of only 25 FGs. Titans suiting up 11 players 4 more than the shooters may have meant a fresher titans lineup in the second half, winning the 3rd 28-8.

Strong Titans win keeps them undefeated and looking good.

3 votes - Western Titans - Uditi Samdup - 31 pts 12-13 FT's 7 rebs 2 blks

Samdup certainly looked good in this one playing on the former U21 NT Junel Viojan and keeping him to 2-13. also bullying his way to the line and hitting 12 of his 31 there, while shooting his other 19 from over 50% shooting. A special notice should be that Samdup was the only player in the game to hit a 3pt shot and he did it in the rout in the 3rd. not often a C is the only player to find some range.

We spoke to Samdup after the game and all he has to say was 'i am Uditi 'standup' and thats what i do when it counts'

2 votes - Shepparton Shooters - Cristian Prelazzi - 14 pts 8 rebs 3 stls 5 blks

It was hard to split the two players for the 2 and 1 votes, so i expect to find myself in C-Cats office for this one. But Christian gets the nod in this one for mine due to his defensive exploits sending Titans players to the carpark all night with 5 blocks. 'Pretty Lazy' was anything but lazy with his hustle on the offensive end leaving him with 4 offensive rebounds on the night.

1 vote - Western Titans - Bento Filho - 14 pts 11 rebs 3 stls

The other Power forward in the debate for the 2 votes will have to be happy with the 1. scoring just as many points and picking up a couple more rebounds just didnt compensate for Prelazzi's extra effort for 3 blocks and the 4 offensive boards. Good game though by Bento, but was not as valuable as Samdup and Prelazzi to their teams.

We have a special statement here from Overlord Commissioner Leeroy

"We are considering placing a formal complaint with the federation's bosses over his conduct in today's game!" These were the words of Titans' Head Coach, Albert Romarsh after today's Fishbowl South game between the Western Titans and the shepparton shooters.

Players from both teams almost came to blows just 30 seconds into the 4th quarter after shooters star, Junel Viojan, was ejected from the game for a second flagrant foul on Uditi Samdup. Samdup was quickly up and unleashing a verbal attack on Viojan, while held back by his teammate Bento Filho. Viojan and Samdup, both former Australian u21 representatives then stared each down as teammates attempted to seperate the pair. Viojan's ejection from the game was welcomed by a round of applause from the Titans' bench, lead by Amadeusz Rempala, who is tonight sporting stitches above his eye following another aggressive defensive effort by Viojan which ended Rempala's night in the 1st quarter.

Uditi Samdup had this to say after the game, "Apart from not trusting Duffman with my missus, I have never had a problem with players in the fishbowl, and certainly have never clashed with anyone from the Calamari federation...until now."

Match of the Round

Mangoloids vs Possum Chasers 98-88

This was the closest contest of the night and bloody hell watching the grizzlies vs OKC scores right now... its insane. back to business. Two very strong teams smashing it out. Chasers lost touch just after the half and couldnt eat away the mango's lead. The possums just werent hungry enough to get the win.

3 votes - Mangoloids - Luke McCaskie - 27 pts 7 assists 6 rebounds

tough decision in this one. McCaskie had a great night but so did a few others. He was in the winning side and scored 7 more points than his teammate Arbizu with a shooting performance of 55%. Those seven points could have been the difference between the sides.

2 votes - Possum Chasers - Trinh Trinh - 25 pts 12 rebounds 9 assists

The triple double game eluded the U21 star, unable to find that last assist to put on his mantlepiece. Statswise TT was the player stuffing the statsheet the most. However the Possum's couldnt win so it is difficult to give him 3 votes when McCaskie also played a stellar match.

1 vote - Mangoloids - Eder Arbizu - 20 pts 9 rebounds 7 assists

great night for Eder with better overall stats than his fellow forward McCaskie unfortunate to get only 1 vote for his performance but as stated earlier in a game like this the 7 points were more valuable than Eder's 3 more defensive rebounds.

Amos Rogues vs Whompas Donkeys 88 - 47

The Rogues 'D' was massive in this one, keeping the Donkeys to only 30 points through three of the quarters. Good luck to anyone who tries to score on this defense

3 votes - Amos Rogues - Li Runkang - 16 pts 22 rebs 3 blks

it was a brilliant night for Li with the rogues being 35 points better when he was on the court. it may have something to do with his 7-13 shooting and his help in keeping the Donkey's big men relatively quiet.

2 votes - Whompas Donkeys - Ignacio Santana - 14 pts 15 rebs

the double double gets him 2 votes seeing as there wasnt much else going on in the game. a 14-15 double double is still a nice performance especially taking into account the 6 offensive rebounds he snagged.

1 vote - Amos Rogues - Arturo Capriolo - game high 18 pts

in only 28 minutes Arturo put in the most points for the game. that is about all that can be said about this one.

Bainsynators Plebs vs Geelong Vipers 77 - 48

This was a low scoring scrappy affair with both sides struggling to score before the break. However the Plebs lit up after the half and scored 30 - 7 in the 3rd.

3 votes - Bainsynators Plebs - Xavier Suelves - 21 pts 14 rebs

the newest member of the Plebs roster showed his worth with a double double game high points and rebounds and keeping he Vipers Centers to very few shots. 'Xavi' was the most efficient player on the offensive end putting in 9 of his 12 shots.

2 votes - Bainsynators Plebs - Garrie Addison - 12 pts 5 rebs 3 ast 6 stls 3 blks

Garrie gets the 2 votes not only because he makes Fanny's Roger McCromiskey look like a chump but he also makes the Vipers guard Baltrus Gaidulevicius look like one aswell with Baltrus shooting 3-22. Garrie's 6 steals and 3 blocks shows why his defense gets him the 2 votes and why the Vipers only scored 48.

1 vote - Geelong Vipers - Ace Dispo - 13 pts 9 rebs

Ace 'Disco' was the best Viper on the night and it is the second time he has found his way into the votes. Xavi and Garrie were just hitting better beats in this one leaving Ace to pick up the Ace not the three.

Round 3

Hope nobody minds me jumping in to do the reports, I mentioned it to someone this week. So here it is.

Amos Rogues Vs Geelong Vipers. 76-38
The undefeated Rogues fronted up against the Vipers, and tipsters could have predicted a one sided affair, and tipsters would have been right. With great defending guards and a 3-2 defence, Amos Rogues squeezed the life out of the Vipers and ran away comfortable winners. Geelong Vipers stank it up from the floor, shooting a dismal 13-83 FGs. Rogues had larceny on their mind with 11 steals. Zyler's boys move to 3-0 and Matt's boys have a bit of work to do, winless and second bottom on the table.

3 Votes - Amos Rogues - Angelo Ciceri 29 points 9 rebounds 1 steal
The Italian sharpshooter had his eye in shooting 10-19 for 29 points from just 27 minutes of court time.9 reds and 1 steal capped off a good allround effort from the veteran. Both teams combined shot a poor 43 of 170, so Ciceri picked his shots well and was an economical offensive weopon.

2 Votes - Amos Rogues - Li Runkang 10 rebounds 7 blocks 4 assists 6 points 24 minutes.
The impressive Rungkang continued his solid form with an outstanding defensive effort. The big Chinaman had more rejections than a poor man at a strip club turning up 7 blocks. 10 rebounds was the third highest in the game and he shot 3-5 from the floor to make the most of limited chances down low.

1 vote - Amos Rogues - Shad Crous 14 rebs 3 steals 2 assists 4 points
Big Shad was a demon in the paint, helping keep the two Vipers C's to 4 points between them. Coupled with a game high 14 rebounds and 3 steals meant he was no one trick pony. A key to the good result for the team.

Western Titans Vs Brisbane Thunder 95-38

Another one sided affair saw Robhoe's Titans butt heads with Leeroy's Brisbane Thunder. Titans got the early jump to lead 24-11 at quarter time, and managed to increas their lead as the game went on. The Thinder got their tactics badly wrong, rolling the dice with the 1-3-1 zone, but the big men from the Titans had a picnic in the paint with their Look Inside tactic creating havoc.

3 Votes - Western Titans - Uditi Samdup. 20 Points 16 Rebs 6 Blocks 3 Assists. Double Double
The highly paid Aussie was dynamic down low to shoot 10-14 from the floor. With a salary 80k higher than his direct opponent, it was boys against men in the paint and Samdup was unstopable at both ends.

2 votes - Western Titans - Norbert Carey 15 points 12 rebs (5or) Double Double
Wayne's brother formed a dynamic duo with Samdup knocking in 15 points from just 24 minutes of court time. His power forward partner in crime, Filho also had 10 points and 15 rebs for a double double.

1 vote - Brisbane Thunder - Ng Ting Yu 12 points 9 rebs (5or) 4 assists 2 steals 3 blocks
Charity vote goes to Ting from Brisbane Thunder, ho depite being hopelessly overmatched, tried hard to put to gether a nice stats line. The Budget PF was strong at both ends with blocks and steals to go with his assists and points.
