Well I also didn't have my starting SF or PF in my lineup and tried to sneak some minutes onto my scrubs for GS purposes. Glad I could learn that lesson without it costing me a very avoidable L on my record.

Div II.IV Tourney Survivor Update

Great 8 - 7
Big 8 - 5

Gaeta sent the Dogs to the pound last week in the game of the week.

Things are starting to be more competitive as we go deeper into the tournament; only 1 bot this week and guess who got it....

Flying Mashers at the Div III US Daggers (3-5) - Mashers will stab the 8-man Daggers in this one

*Sungrazers vs Div III Skinny Dudes (7-1) - Sungrazers will shine in this one, good matchup but HCA and depth will prevail.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters vs Div IV Some Team (4-4) - The Monsters will scare these guys away.

Super Stars vs Div III St. Louis Redbirds (6-2) - The stars will fly high over the Redbirds due to HCA and depth.

San Diego Eagles at Div III Hoopster Doofuses (4-4) - The Doofuses led by 109K/week Frederick Warren will confound the Eagles.

EDH Wolves at Div III Kings31 (2-6) - The wolves will put the bite on the Kings in this one.

Serenity Valley Browncoats vs Div IV Trinikings (7-1) - The Kings have put together a solid Div IV team but with 8 men the Browncoats will drive on through.

The Closers at the Div IV Zekesters (8-0) - The Zekesters are another solid Div IV team and at home but the Closers will close them out with their depth and better game shape.

Bananahorns vs Div IV Brewskies (6-2) - The Bananahorns wont slip up on the Brewskies in this one.

Pwnstrz vs Div IV Carolina Looney Tunes (7-1) - The stars will say thats all folks to the looney tunes another solid Div IV team who will field a good lineup.

Work in Progress vs NBBA Upsyndrome (8-0) - Upsyndrome will work Work in Progress in the first NBBA matchup for DII.IV.

Bigshots get the only bot this week (winner, winner, chicken dinner) congrats!

Thats all for this week and good luck

*Game of the Week

II.4 Player of the Week:
Chip Whitesides (24733612) of Flash Mashers

Mr. Whitesides led the Mashers to yet another 2-0 week. He hit 5 treys in a solid win over the SuperStars. Then he scored a weekly league high 41 points and saved the short handed Mashers from almost getting knocked off by the tanking Big Shots. Chip could easily get overlooked on a deep Mashers team but this was his week to shine.

honorable mention:
1. Ahmet Bidikli (31741111) of PuffPuffPass. In the most exciting game of the week, Bidikli willed the Puffers to an OT win last Saturday over the Sungrazers, getting 27 and 17. He was the team's high scorer on Tuesday also to make a 2-0 week for the team.

2. Cleveland Meert (31633703) of the Serenity Valley Browncoats. Meert scored 31 in a win over the SuperStars and helped the team to a 2-0 week.

3. Liang Tingfa (20741162) of the Bananahorns. Tinfa's jumpshot was on this week, even going a respectable 7-16 in a LI offense. He scored 23 and 16 to pull to Bananahorns into 4th in the conference.

Ayy glad to see Chip getting some love! I bought him for the intent of starting in D2 but he's been coming off the bench and giving me some great scoring power against other teams reserves. Very effective, but not exactly a spotlight position. Thanks for the post!

Aw man. It was a tough night to be game of the week.
After my team collapsed like a dehydrated manatee against PuffPuff this week, I had to play to win against the Pownstars, which left me fewer options against the Skinny Dudes.
And... then my starting PF went out with injury in MINUTE ONE!!! Arg.

It would have not been a sure thing even if he didn't, but that certainly didn't help.

Dang, too bad Serenity couldn't pull off the OT win. That would have made my position a lot more comfortable :D

Sorry I couldn't help you out.
To be honest, between my coaching gaffes and Roberts getting tossed for two flagrant fouls in the first six minutes, I was very surprised we were able to come back and force OT. Of course the Leopards had to deal with losing Dounais in the first minute, which I guess is basically a wash with Roberts.
But I don't think you really have all that much to worry about.

II.4 Player of the Week:
Felix Öby (29885591) of the Flying Leopards

Mr. Oby had a standout game on Tuesday leading his team to a close OT win over the Browncoats. 33 pts, 15 boards, 5 dimes, 3 treys, 2 blocks. Add in a 19/15 game on Saturday for the win and he's had an outstanding week. He did play 101 minutes this week, so perhaps he'll come down to earth next week!

honorable mention:
1. Cris Buckley (28766943) of Big Head Todd. Buckley put in a great single game performance on Saturday. Coach Schlitty gave the outside players the green light to shoot and Cris lit it up with 7 treys and 35 points to get a big win over the Bananahorns.

2. Nelson Swan (19242238) of the Bananahorns did what he could in that game, getting 20 and 15 to lead the team. He had an even bigger game Tuesday against the hard-luck San Diego Eagles with 32 and 16. this time for the win.

3. Mikelis Dziesminieks (25291439) of the Sungrazers had the best of a few patient offense games this week by various teams, dropping 36 points on Work in Progress to make it an easy win. This is Dziezwhatever's second honorable mention, making him my first repeat player on the rankings.

Div II.IV Tourney Survivor Update

Last week the Sungrazers got scorched, Big Todd and the Monsters got scared away and Work in Progress got fired.

Leaving the score

Great 8 - 6
Big 8 - 3

Now for this week's games

*Flash Mashers vs Div II Beskitas Cs (9-1) - Premium matchup for two Div II division leaders, the question is, who wants to stay in the tourney...going with the Mashers as they flash on by Beskitas....

Super Stars at Div III Sparta Hybla Valley (4-6) - I think the Stars will shine in this one

San Diego Eagles at Div III Maine Lobstahs (3-7) - Eagles seem to be playing for the tourney so I see the Lobstahs ending up in a pot of hot water.

EDH Wolves at Div IV Hartford Hawks (8-2) - Wolves should put the bite on the Hawks in this one.

Serenity Valley Browncoats at DIv III Malvern City Thunder (0-10) - Browncoats will strike down the Thunder

The Closers vs Div II Tasty Tardsicles (5-5) - The Closers should feast on the Tardsicles in a "close" one.

Pwnstarz at Div III Shm (9-1) - Dont see the starz getting owned in this one.

Bananahorns vs Div IV Peachtree Shooting Stars (7-3) - I dont see the Bananahorns slipping up on this one.

BigShots vs Div II Irvine Anteaters (7-3) - Eventhough the BigShots are winless in Div II I see them in a Big way against the Anteaters.

Good Luck Everyone

I think I may end up having to train GS after this week. Too bad I couldn't get a little farther before I had to start making choices between tournament and normal club affairs, but this is a little too early to duck out of the tourney for me.

Deks (that's what we call him) is honored to be selected twice in the honorable mention rankings.
