Someone remind me what simulating injuries adds to this game?

I might be the only one who's in favor of injuries
a) incentivize depth (by making it worthwhile to spread talent around)
I would actually like an intermediate system in which initial injury is always in-game. If injured in-game you go to banged-up status. If you get another injury while in banged-up status it becomes a multi-game injury (kinda like in hattrick, but hattrick also had the direct injury thing).
