A Glance to Next Season (S18) U21 NT Members ....1. Lin Chuan Loong. (C, 7'3" )Lin, Standing at 7'3" combined with his great passion,
has earned him the U21 position since Season 16 when he was 19yo. Now his third & Final appearance on U21, he will be trusted as the Merlion captain to lead them through next season. Known as his hustling defense, he is one of few tall defender that opponent feared of.
2. Li An Wen. (C, 7'4" )Another Giant Tower, with similar ability of Lin Chuan Loong. LAW was selected to U21 on this season when a U21 Senior Seow Yeng Jian was ruled out from the team due to out of shape. Although he wasn't ready enough,
the experience of witnessing European U21 and appearance on B3 games has influenced him a lot to be a better player. Although not so talented, he does have the will to be a team player, as the result of a member of SBBL champs last season, Pekanbaru Jaguars.
3. Li Shi Keng. (PG, 5'10" )A rare strong little man
who is always ready to bend his knee down strong like a granite wall for whoever wish to drive past him. A strong bloomer between his 19-20 age, Li is projected to be one of Merlion "little general" a.k.a. Nate Robinson (minus his superdunk) of the NBA.
4. Kang Puay Ying. (PG, 6'0" )The U21 scouts already able to sense Kang Puay Ying ability since at his midst 19yo. KPY is an exceptionally good playmaker and good enough to lift up an decent team.
Unselfish ball distributor and a hustler defender suits the most for him. Entering his U21 Senior year. KPY will be predicted to be the team starting PG. The only concern that is his condition has always been inconsistent during the midseason.
5. Lau Jin Chin. (SG, 6'6")Lau Jin Chin was entering the draft with status of "Singapore Michael Jordan" because of his HOF potential, but his development was slowed down of injuries during his first year. After two season later, LJC is morphed into one of the rare wingman that consistently banging the rim,
thanks to the training program from one of SGP Scout Benoit Rosseau (35756), and also the tendencies of his current team Lycans BB team tactic, "Bang Inside" (Look Inside). LJC was witnessing a lot how devastating Fang Shuang Xiang has smashed his defender on the paint. Although not yet the HOF, expect LJC to show some sign from the U21 chance that will be given to him, and probably more minutes.
6. Irfan Bakti bin Abd Hamid (SG, 6'3") Hamid, together with Lau Jin Chin, were the two prospect that are going to lead U21. But with the suprised development of LSK and KPY, Hamid is now under their shadow. Not that he's not progressing, but his calm demeanor and cool blooded assasin has earned him some respect,
especially when dropping 50pts, single-handedly defeated SBBL Champion, Pekanbaru Jaguars on National Tournament on early season 17. On U21 season 18, Hamid is projected to play behind KPY and LSK, but might see some quality minutes if coach need a crunchtime performers.
3. Fong Chang Chao. (PF, 6'9" )Fong Chang Chao
reminds scouts of the current hardworking U21 player, Peh Jian Long. Although not as tough as Peh, Fong has more soft hands around the baskets, and projected to have huge minutes on PF side if the coach need some sparks of inside scoring.
