We make a first assessment after the first 5 games in the consolation tournament, Japan is in 14th place in the standings with 4 wins for 1 defeat, it's a completely logical assessment 3 games from the end of this first round.

Defeat to France was inevitable, while wins against Wales, Pakistan and Barbados were logical.
The match against Iceland was more uncertain but the excellent form of our players tipped the balance in our favour.

We are now going to play the two most difficult matches on our calendar, starting with Switzerland and then Estonia, but we will have the advantage of receiving each time.

Rendez-vous on Mnday ... 19h00 for Japanese people

Come on Japan!

Very good results anyway. I will try once more to keep Takagi in good shape. I am happy he is becoming an important player of the NT

I think he could be in the team very soon, he isn't the first choice but with some good progress, he could play on the bench.

Consolation Tournement: Second Round
Japan finally and logically qualified for the second round with a record of 6w-2d in 20th place.
Overall, we enjoyed a good draw, with the exception of France, which was unplayable. We deplore a second defeat in this first round against Estonia after a fatal overtime. It isn't surprising given the level of the Estonian players, but in this match, Japan could very well have won an improbable win.

The consolation tournament determines the host of the next Asian championship, and with this qualification for the second round, Japan remains one of the 4 candidates still in the running, here is the list:

- Hong Kong (30) who will face Belgium (3)
- Philippines (26) who will face Turkey (7)
- Australia
- Japan

And it is Australia that Japan will meet for this second round with the home advantage for the kangaroos.
Rendez-vous on Monday and Come on Japan!
