In that case I wish I knew the market crash was coming so I didn't waste all that cash buying players who value was halved in the next several seasons.

is the first article of a series of posts on Rodman. Read it; it's really interesting stuff.
Let's put it that way: Rodman grabbed the highest % of rebounds anyone ever grabbed, and did so over the course of five seasons. He did average less RPG than Wilt or Bill, but their games were played at a faster pace, and with lower shooting % than in the 90es. Usually, players have to give up offensive rebounding when trying to get defensive rebounds, and vice versa. Rodman is basically the only exception to this: when he grabbed more defensive rebounds, he also grabbed more offensive rebounds. Kevin Garnetts career rebounding %age is actually lower than Rodmans career
offensive
rebounding %age.

Duh. So you believe Rodman didn't develop as a player, you say, and he didn't improve his rebounding? Plus, Rodmans role was switched from SF to PF later, and that matches the point in time when he started outrebounding everyone. Rodman is simply head and shoulders above anyone else in rebounding dominance during the 90es, way more than for example Jordan was in scoring dominance. That his raw numbers don't match the crazily inflated stats of the early day heroes like Wilt doesn't mean much; he grabbed an incredibly higher percentage of rebounds than anyone else when he was on the court during his Spurs and Bulls days, way more, as a percentage of missed shots, than anyone else in the history of the sport , ever. That's the greatest rebounder to me. But I can make the case only half as well as the series of articles, so go ahead and read them instead of being embarassed for others without knowing what that other person is even referring to.

Really nice posts man, finally someone who have some knowledge about advanced stats.
Chase also forgets how much time need those kind of players to find there niche on the NBA, but i have a great recent example for him. Ben Wallace.

RODMAN WAS NOT THE GREATEST REBOUNDER.
RODMANS ONLY JOB WAS TO REBOUND!
There are better rebounders in the 90's but they never were able to exclusively focus their efforts to just one aspect of the game. Better rebounders Malone, Barkley, Hakeem, Admiral were all better rebounders.

But could they have done it in the same condition as Rodman? All nighters in Vegas then to the Finals for a 30 rebound night.

Laimbeer was alot of things to the Pistons in the Bad Boy days, but throw a ball at the back board & ask Laimbeer & Rodman to go get it & 9 times out of 10 Rodman's coming down with it, regardless where he's high of not ;)
