Nope and I certainly think FG% is very very important!

I protest! (this is the place for it right?)

2 Algirdas Trimailovas Lewisham Wombats 27 PTS 7 REB. While his 27 points was a team high it was his 7 rebounds from the SG position that was what the team needed. If the forwards 4/4/0 had done as well there may have been a different result.

1 Grgur Fatur Black Label Society 20 PTS 12 REB 18.0 rating. Grrrr, Fatty, The Man Who Needs a Vowel...whatever you want to call him his game is no joke and the beating he put on Aggelos this game was outstanding.

Caio was an easy 3 votes but Grgur should have gotten an easy 2 votes in this one.

G. Fatur 31 9 - 16 0 - 0 2 - 4 +26 0 12 2 1 1 0 1 20 18.0
A. Trimailovas 46 11 - 27 1 - 9 4 - 5 -13 0 7 3 1 0 1 1 27 15.5

A much more efficient game from Grgur in the blowout win and he also completely shut down Aggie who is generally one of the Wombats best players and only had 4 points, 4 boards and 6 fouls.

Correct, and very fast! We will get the big C-Cat on it right away to see if we can get Grgur another point and a vowel!

I must protest my MVP game as well:

The write up was total crap: :P

Koopasaurus vs. Monkey Business 87 - 95

Monkey Business won in OT.

3 Gabriele Messineo Monkey Business 24 PTS. Shot a lot.

2 Wazza Kennerley Koopasaurus 24 PTS. Big 3 forced OT. Only Sauron trying in OT.

1 Sepehr Asghari Koopasaurus 32 PTS. Top scorer.

And there was no proper reasons given as to why each person deserved their points.

Mession got 3. Thats great

Kennerly got 2. No problems.

Asghari got 1. WTF! Apart from scoring at a really low %, he did nothing else. His stat line is as follows:

S. Asghari 52 13 - 35 5 - 19 1 - 4 -5 0 1 2 3 3 0 5 32 14.5

52 minutes, 37% shooting on the majority of his team's shots. 1 rebound, 2 assists...3 turnovers, and choked in OT.

I think someone like Totengo is more deserving of the one MVP point:

D. Totengco 39 2 - 9 0 - 0 6 - 6 +4 5 24 1 2 1 4 1 10 15.5

Only 39 minutes of action. Bad shooting % I admit, but he didn't take no where as many as Asgahi did. The 24 boards kept the team in the game as he excelled in OT and he went on to get a double-double. Also had a massive 4 blocks which is really rare on this level of play.

Scoring is important, but if you are not doing anything else and are just jacking up lots of shots on your way to be the highest scorer, then unfortunately, you're more of a liability than MVP candidate

I don't like the use of rating when deciding MVP votes. It should be about stats.

Tricked ya! but seriously it really is a pretty straight forward case though. With it being such an easy BLS win it favors Gaeiouraeiougur Fatur massivly. While Trimailovas did score 7 more points, at 3/4 when Fatur was sent to the showers they both had 20, so the last 7 are not really that relevant in junk time. Fatur shot at a much better % and while his rebounding numbers wernt outstanding for a PF compared to Trimialovas's decent board numbers for a gaurd i dont think thats anywhere near enough to make up the gap in efficiency and also the fact the Wombats were smashed. To top it off as Dire mentioned Fatur's defence was simply awesome, Panagiotopoulos had just 2 points and 4 boards to three quarter time. Defence is massively underrated around here and in MVP voting i think...

So I agree with old man dire, he can have this, swap the votes to

3 - Caio
2 - Fatur
1 - Trimailovas

okie doke, time for Monkey Business's token appeal

So basically to briefly sum it up the appeal is that Totengco should get the 1 vote ahead of Asghari...

Ashgari shot 37% while shooting the majority of his teams shots. Well yes 37% is not great, but he was one of the more efficient on his team for the night so its probably right he was putting up the most shots. Realistically 37% off 35 shots is a hell of a lot better then 22% off 9 shots, especially when the 37% is from a guard and the 22% is from a big man.

Ashgari only had 1 Rebound, 2 assists, 3 turnovers. Yeah not very good I'll give you that, but not far off a Reggie Miller type stat line most games either, he could play. At SG though his main job is to shoot the ball and score, he did that, and put up 32 points for the game so he did a fair job of it in the end, He also got 3 steals though which you left off. Totengco did get 24 rebounds yes, but only 5 of those were offensive, thats 19 defensive so still impressive but its not like he dominated the boards, there was 133 missed shots in the game, 24 from a C in a game with that many rebounding chances is not as impressive as it initially looks.

Yes Ashgari didn't do much it OT, but Totengco was hardly the hero in it either. I think this is a case of standing out in a weak team. Ashgari and Kennelly were the only reason Koop was in the game, they were the only reason the game went to OT, i don't think Totengco had the same value to your team. Had you have won by 15-20 points in a regulation time then yeah i think Totengco could have snuck in for one, and as odd as it looks the losing team 2 players in the votes i think in this case it was probably the right call...

So sorry mate, maybe I'm wrong also but i agree more with the initial votes...
