that might be enough to bankrupt me if the attendance penalty from demotion is all it's rumored to be.
Unfortunately, it looks like the the attendance penalty does, in fact, suck gopher gonads. Our luxury box and courtside seat prices are pretty similar, and you ended up selling about 20% fewer seats in those sections. If the numbers from buzzer manager are correct (the last attendance in league ,at least, since I know the others are wrong), you pulled in 60k less than everyone else last night, which also seems to be right around a 20% penalty. Hopefully you get a nice. long Cup run to help tide you over until the fans stop kicking your effigy in the balls.
My attendance numbers floored me. I expected a minimum of 10% more than what I saw. I expected a decrease, but this is absolute crap. I wasn't tanking and won half my games to end the season. I finally checked and my fan total is exactly 50% of what it was at the beginning of last season. I'm quite certain when you promote you don't double your fan base.
If fans don't start coming back or their excitement doesn't kick in fast, I'll be bankrupt by all star as I have those back to back road games twice before then.
Time will tell, but since I was actually competitive last season, if the fans don't recover fast this will be just another example that, financially, might as well bank money with low salary if your going to demote as you'll need the cushion for foolish monetary policy.
Not that it means anything, but going into the game my overall fan mood was 3 basketballs, or the same level after winning the last game of my nbba career to autodemote last season.
sense-making is low.
