Season 22 - Compassvale United clinch their third consecutive Singapore Cup

Singapore Showstoppers go into the final of the Singapore Cup as the underdogs. The team has enjoyed some favourable draws to reach the final but they are determined to give it their best shot at winning the cup. With some of the stars such as Wojciech Troszczynski, 34, and Urbano Di Giuseppe, 32, heading into their thirties, this may well be their final shot together as a unit to lift the cup.

Compassvale United overcame Shwe Toe Ngal in a tough semi-final game to reach the final as overwhelming favourite to clinch their third consecutive Singapore Cup. Newcomer Hrvatska SG's Edi Rušin recently join Compassvale United to bolster an already very strong roster. Only his second game for his new club, but he could well be winning his first winners medal.

Compassvale United manager, Shogun surprise everyone by resting Singapore NT vice-captain, Yeo Tse Hui for the game. The fans was glad that newcomer E. Rušin, together with captain R. Kallas and R. Wisgerhof all scored over 20 points to lead Compassvale United to a hard fought 106-100 win. H. Xiangsong was delighted, "I was very worried at first as our team was in foul trouble. Luckily we managed to defend our tournament title successfully, it was great!"

W. Xiangjia was Singapore Showstoppers star performer with 37 points and 31 rebound but was unable to help prevent a Compassvale United win. A disappointed Ong Yi Ying said, "We've given it our best shot but sadly was not enough to win it. The team would like to thank the fans for sticking with us over all these years."

Congratulations for Compassvale. One more season and you will be tied with Whampoa for the records.

@Showstopper -> seems you played much differently this season, much much more competitive. Nice to see it.

Thanks all.

To Choo: I only consider my team as one of the top teams, not the best.
