Still won't ever allow a skill to pop every single week.

When did I ever say that it would? Your logic is flowed. Just because a skill isn't likely to keep popping every single week doesn't mean that it can't. Don't forget that there is still a luck factor involved. You could have enough of a variance just on that alone to account for that happening once in a while.

What luck factor? Are you saying that the amount received by training each week is random within reason? I disagree.

Well the whole point of this thread was to find out if a skill can pop twice in the same week. i.e. can a skill go from Respectable to Proficient.

This means that a skill must be able to receive more than 1.0 training. Which is not possible at any time regardless of circumstance.

How do you know this, again. You are just guessing. I have heared it from experienced managers who had it happen to them. And as far as the "luck factor" is concerned it's the same thing. Just because you are not aware of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Name 1 experienced manager that claims it has happened to.

As for the luck factor, I can't prove it doesn't exist. Can you prove it does?

Lol. You are just being childish. I don't have to prove anything to you. And are you now backtracking. A second ago you were sure of yourself. You really should stop trying to pass your own opinion for a fact. That's why I don't have to prove it to you. Because it is not hard fact but just my experience and experience of many others. Just because you believe it to be true doesn't mean it is. As for the manager it wasn't just one, but the one in particular that I can recall I believe was GM-JohnnyB.

How am I backtracking? I am still sure. Nothing in my post indicates that I am any less sure.
So what you are saying is that you have a different opinion, but with no proof to back it up?
Okay I'll ask the GM and see what he says, or if he read this hopefully he can provide his experience.

Perhaps the illusion of luck comes from varying sublevels.

Off course you are not backtracking. In case you missed it I sad it in jest. Why would you. You are obviously too stubborn to admit that God forbid it is possible that you might be wrong. And even than your response is "prove it" when you yourself can't prove squat.

Hard to catch jest over the internet :P
I said that it can't happen, and everyone else in this thread has similar thoughts except you. So the majority has the same thoughts as me. So while I can't prove it, it is definitely the prevailing opinion. If I asked on the forums whether my player has a hidden feeling attribute and if he gets sad if he isn't listed as the starter on my team, then people would laugh and say no obviously. If someone then came along saying that there is a hidden feeling attribute then the onus would be on this person to prove his case. Not for the others to prove that there is no hidden attribute.
In the same way, the onus is on you to prove that there is a luck factor. Not on me.

A provisionally accepted hypothesis isn't exempt from scrutiny. I think you just described groupthink. My money is still on you to win the fight though. You sound really smart.
