FINALS DAY
After 9 rounds of walkovers, EBBL teams being knocked out by lower opposition, multiple games decided by a single possession and a division III team reaching the quarter finals for the first time in four seasons, it all boiled down to the showdown between two fantastic EBBL sides in A Dogs and Tide of Fire.
The first quarter began with Tide of Fire dominating affairs thanks to the brilliance of Luke Innes and Jeremy MacAusland. The second quarter was a different story with both teams competing every shot, ball and rebound leading to the second quarter being tied at 24 each, meaning Tide of Fire went in at half time by a score of 59-46. In the second half there were glimpses where A Dogs had looked to claw his way back to a single digit margin, largely down to Rudolph Esposto and Loris Caddeo. The final quarter saw Tide of Fire see out the game scoring 32 points to A Dogs 29 and winning his first National Tournament by a score of 112-95 so congratulations goes out to LA-Vecx on this fantastic achievement.
FINALS MVP
There were three candidates from Tide of Fire competing for the right to be crowned finals MVP, these were Luke Innes, Jeremy MacAusland and Adair Baiano but for me, the award goes to the man who shot 80% from the field scoring 29 points, gobbled up 12 rebounds and dished out 5 assists, so congratulations go out to Luke Innes on a remarkable performance.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the thread this season, I look forward to doing it again for next season's tournament.
Question is: Will Vecx rule England for the next couple of seasons or will a new champion be born?
