In my opinion its less a matter of ID vs SB (i think both matter) but more of how we see their influence.
Most players look at the stats and the match ratings because thats basically all we have.
However, match ratings have several issues.
Take a look at this game (german cup quarter final):
(85141259) So i defend with an ID rating of 9 vs inside attack 12, attack with outside shooting 7 vs OD rating 10 and have worse flow and rebounding with less effort and similar motivation. Yet, i won...how?
Main reason are those two:
1. The match ratings get seriously messed up if a player plays out of position (my PG was a 2.24m C trainee) because most of the position boni multipliers (e.g. for rebounding) depend on the offensive position only.
2. Because SB is underrepresented in inside defense match ratings.
To elaborate: Did i get much more blocks? No. Did my high SB players force the opponent to a bad shooting percentage? Yes.
