I'm not a scientific doctor in real life. It is more a German wordplay.

Game 2: Scotland - Serbia 95 - 145

I had to try a experiment against Serbia because the guards were in serious gameshape trouble. The starting lineup included only one guard hoping Serbia plays a inside offense. Unfortunately Serbia played Push The Ball, so they scored 145 points against our 2-3 zone defence. But Serbia (3rd in world ranking) is not our level at the moment.

I hope that our guards will be in better shape in the following weeks. Otherwise were are easy to predict and it would get hard to win a game.

Game 3: Scotland - Italy 75 - 124

Trying inside isolation lead to a offensive desaster scoring only 75 points, but Italy is like our last opponent Serbia and our next opponents Turkey and Slovenia on a higher level than our team.

Game 4: Scotland - Turkey 96 - 136

Maybe I'm the NT coach with the most wrong tactic predictions now, but without right predictions we don't have a chance against teams like Turkey. So the last losses look really bad, but I think winning one game and loosing the other games clearly is better then loosing all games tightly.

Players getting ejected after qualifiers if shapes stays bad
MacFadzean (PG): 5 5 6 7
Gunn (PG): 7 7 5 5
MacWattie (SG): 7 5 4 5
Bowie (PF): 7 6 6 6
MacTary (C): 8 8 6 5

The only problem with guessing every game is that opponents expect you to guess and may change tactics because of this.

... especially if they're experienced managers. And quite a lot of the NTs are now playing Isolations in order to avoid right predictions ... but good luck anyway for the remaining season!

Game 5: Scotland - Slovenia 66 - 114

Another loss against a opponent on a higher level but we have still two chances.

PF Phil Hendry (27907335) is on the transfer list. The price is much to high but if he comes on the list against with a realistic price I would be really happy if he finds his way back to Scotland where he gets better shape hopefully.

Game 6: Scotland - Sweden 68 - 90

The key players of Sweden were in bad shape before this game. So I tried getting a crunchtime victory which does not work because of some offensive problems during the first quarter.

Game 7: Scotland - Luxemburg 105 - 138

Our enthusiam was very low after the crunchtime against Sweden. Our big guys were also in shape trouble, so I tried playing outside offence. It worked offensivly, but our defence was horrible.

Summary

We finished the qualifiers with zero victories. Although we were the lowest seeded team it is disappoiting for me. My plan getting a surprising victory against Germany and winning against Sweden has not worked. The reasons were some tactic misstakes and the fact that we started with less enthusiam than all others teams because of the playerejections the voated coach did. But I learned much about the team, so I'm optimistic that we do better next season.

Offseason

We will do some practice games against other nations for the rest of the season starting against Saudi-Arabia next monday. So I'm going to test some tactics and lineups.

Our team had many players who will not play a role in the future.

The experienced players Ross Gunn (PG) and Peter Morgan (SF) retire after 66 respectivly 71 games for the national teams because of aged caused skilldowns this season.

Having 10 Power Forwards respectivly Centers in the team is also not senseful, so Ian MacTary (bad shape and skills), Paul Bowie (bad shape and skills) and Jimmy MacNider (skills) were also ejected from the team.

Aengus Cullen (young player with high potential, good shape) and Steven MacInroy (good shape) expand our team this season.

There are still three spots left for young players who receive training constantly and have a good shape. So please contact me if you think you have that kind of player.

NT prospect Thomas MacCaskill (32356672) is on the transfer list now. If he receives training constantly he has good chances to become a national team power forward. So everybody who trains center / power forward / shooting skills with a free training spot should keep a eye on him.
