The odd thing is I would fall off my seat if I actually saw a guy called John Smith but players named Aghrnivasu Subramanian or Debjit Chaturvedi are a dime a dozen. I have also only ever twice seen a name that could be for an Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander.
My impression is that they just have all the real names in a giant database and randomly pick from it instead of ensuring that there are 100 players called John for every one called Aghrnivasu. If anything there should be an emphasis on Eastern European names as that *seems* the be the main source of our quality basketballers at the moment.

I've got the very Aussie Mark Edwards and Sam Johns but i also have Odisseas Massios who must be of Greek heritage. The only other aussie i have got is Cam Angold which isn't too bad.

I still like the tactic the u21 were able to run a couple of seasons back of having so many nguyens that the opposition couldn't tell who was where and when.
