Well that is the $1,000,000 question and there is no real answer. Some teams like to be really lean and have around 8 players. I really don't like that but it is obviously economically good. On the other hand I often see players with 21+ players, I can't see any point in this except as a very fleeting event. This is what I aim for.

I am doing 2 position training PG/SG so I like to have 6 trainees. 3 PGs and 3 SGs that I can train. My main dude at each spot, my backups and some young hopefuls I can train in the scrimmage.

I like to have 2 SF.

I like to have 5 big men. 2 starters, 2 backups and one BWS who can play when needed if someone is injured, plays too many minutes, play in cup games etc.

So that is 13 players. In addition I often have someone I am selling so that can bring me to 14. Actually at the moment I have 15 because I have one of my draftees that I just can't decide what to do with so I am not willing to sell him off cheaply or sack him.

Long answer, hope it is useful.

BWS is a real basketball slang term. In the USA NBA teams often for a complex number of reasons have a 7 foot white guy who sits on the end of their bench and hardly ever plays. These players are known as a Big White Stiff - BWS.

DMI (and this is not my original joke) is Deliberately Meaningless Index. It signifies very little but is an indication of how well your player will play this week mainly due to game shape. Never base your buying or selling of players on it.

So it is all star game time for league IV.7. Last year's winner Nigel Easton who scored 43 points for the Great 8 will be dropping in to present the trophy to this years All Star Game MVP. Who will it be?
Paora Stubbs (11375315) Shooting Guard and Joey Anderson (11375302) Shooting Guard both from the Shepparton Shooters are in good form.
Zuo Mingchao (12019991) Power Forward for PeaceNoll has been consistent, as has Chris Hamilton (11603940) Power Forward.
Kane Ruffles (12554701) Point Guard from the Persepolis Immortals is a chance.
What about Mannus Schultz (11557484) Small Forward from the german arms, he has been a picture of German efficiency?

We shall soon see. Good luck all.

6/6 predictions, not bad by me.

And which teams were most represented?

Well shepparton shooters had 5 players.
peaceNroll had 4
Persepolis Immortals and SHAMROCKS had 3 each
Aussie Hammers had 2

Good luck to all the players and remember that Nigel will be on hand to present the trophy and there will be a chance for fans to get autographs later.

The people have spoken. The most popular player for the so called "All Star Game" is the Immortals Pashang Salimi with 31152 votes. Even though he is the lowest paid player in the game the fans can see his true value and appreciate his faith and dedication. If it is the will of God he will also be the game MVP.

We are also pleased to see Arshin Bandari and Kane Ruffles (one of our last two original players) selected.

All star game awards.

Well it was a great game as we have come to expect with heaps of scoring and not much defence. It was a big win to the Big 8 with the final total scores Big 8 151 to the Great 8 129. So the Big 8 players get a large edge there.

Getting 1 point is the Big 8's Pashang Salimi (12219507) Center with the Persepolis Immortals with 12 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds and a 7.5 rating.
Getting 2 points is Zuo Mingchao (12019991) a Great 8 Power Forward from peaceNroll who scored an impressive 15 points in only 16 minutes on 7/8 shooting with a 8.0 rating.
Getting 3 points with a similar stat line was Tuu Fittler (12623230) Small Forward playing for the Big 8 and from Langwarrin Pride who shot 7/9 for 15 points in 16 minutes and an 8.0 rating.
Getting 4 points for the Great 8 was Martin Vollendorf (12621576) Power Forward from the SHAMROCKS who put up a valliant 26 points and scored a 7.0 rating.
However, getting 5 points, this seasons All Star Game MVP scored 34 points on 15-19 shooting, had 4 assists, 6 rebounds and a 7.0 rating. It is Harry Entwistle (11375307) Small Forward from the shepparton shooters!

The Seagulls would like to congratulate Harry for his efforts and he can now claim the title, All Star MVP for season 11! We look forward to seeing all of the IV.7 teams do well in the future, some in IV.7 and at least one in Div III next season. Now the focus turns back to that. Who will it be? The Shooters? PeaceNroll? The Immortals? Is it too late for one of the new teams to make a run? Time shall reveal all.
