I was in Division 2 last season - you keep it up too.... sadly banter won't win the day or better players... just HCA!!.... you are going to be top of the great 8 for the rest of the season and then will have to CT me on the final day of the season to stay there and keep HCA!!

Very happy with my run, and although it's about to end: that's all good too. Time to start focusing on my training.

Now Swoosh... don't be too mean!

Keep it in your pants Wolph....

You have failed to take into consideration that most of us have $$$ to spend... 1 injury or a big signing and the week you think you have mapped out perfectly can all go horribly wrong....

There are some talented managers in here that shoot there mouth far less than you or I

Why thanks for the complement sharman. I dont get around to reading the thread that much.

And i dont run my mouth much either...but its nice to be the 5th ranked team in japan.

That means Stunners, Sharman, Kitakyushu and Okayama are ranked higher than me. My time to make my assualt at the cup (or Jbbl) is coming, but not yet. There are so many things to take into consideration...most importantly, bankroll.

Never hurts to have a couple mill sitting in your account just in case ;-)

Somebody let me a hold a no. 2 pencil cause they testin' me.

Malice, there are two ways to approach the a cup game like one where you are facing a roster that out salaries yours.

1) you can rent a team. But to do this effectively, you have to start the season collecting good parts to sell off after you cup run. the worst thing you can do is run out the week before and just grab guys without planning...because then you cant sell them.

2) you can use the continuity factor in the game along with managed game shapes and an effective strategy to take down your opponent.

Asside from Sharman (and Stunners recently), we all have taken our lumps in the cup. There was a time where there were 4 teams good enough to beat Sharman on any given day (Small Town Operators, Puka Puka Cowboys, Maruyama Allstars). In those days, it was win and HOPE you didnt get any of those 4.

So, yes, we understand where you are coming from. You just have to remember, BB is a marathon, not a sprint.

You have to ask yourself everytime you buy a guy 1) is this guy important enough to my team to take a loss...because 3 times out of 5, you arent going to turn a profit on a guy, and 2) Im buy this guy to rent or rely on.

Flushing out your roster like a stable of pros is no good. Best thing for you to do is man up and see what you team has.

Ummm... dude? C'mon dude, the comment was said in jest. Sheesh... some of you take this way, way too seriously. I really don't care if I lose tonight - obviously, I expect to.

Reality check: I got to where I am in the Cup through luck. Regardless of whether I "man up" (note: I despise attaching real life metaphors to an online game) or not, I am going to lose this game. Sure, if I run my best team out there and there might be a what... less than 1% chance of me winning it? What's the point in that?
I - from my yes-albeit-I'm-a-noob point of view - am better off just enjoying where I got to in the Cup, playing this game as if it were a scrimmage, and go about my business in my league.
