Singapore suffers first defeat in 2nd round of group games

It appeared to be going well in the first half with Singapore leading 57-48, but it took a turn for the worse in 2nd half to end with a 108-117 surprise defeat.

India out rebounded Singapore 44-34 and had a better FG% of 58.1% (50 out of 86) vs Singapore's 51.1% (44 out of 86). S. Khanolkar, D. Sokhi and D. Nagendra Gandhi all scored 20 over points for India.

P. Jian Long who was watching from the stands was seen shouting words of encouragement to cheer the team on, but to his dismay, Singapore lost. S. Yeng Jian led the team with 23 points. F. Shuangxiang who likely to have played his last game for NT got 10 points and 7 rebounds.

"With this defeat, our dream of finishing in third place is over", a disappointed Eric told the reporter.

Singapore secures first win in 2nd round of group games

Singapore secures first win in 2nd round of group games with a 116-103 win over Macau, hopefully it will not be their only win. Captain Y. Tse Hui led the team with 23 points but was only limited to 33 minutes due to him committing 6 personal fouls. S. Yeng Jian, A. Kok Loong, N. Huat, F. Loong Wei, M. bin Abu Bakar, M. Jian Ting and Y. Jing Sze all got double digits to help NT with the win.

"I am glad NT newcomer F. Loong Wei and M. Jian Ting played well in their first game for the National Team. I am sure they will continue to improve and made more NT appearances", a delighted Eric told the press.

J. Dingping and S. Shuwei played well for Macau with 22 and 21 points respectively but were not enough to help avoid defeat for Macau.
