Hell, if Leeroy is happy to do it, then let him! But that is a good alternative Bainsy.

All tips must be submitted between Wednesday and Friday 8:00pm at the latest

Once a tip has been submitted there will be no editing

rawr!

Nah I suppose you can edit before the games start.

Ahh, thats cool. But I will make sure I submit tips after the Friday training update, so you can see the updated gameshape for the week.
At a disadvantage if you don't really.

if you want to make somethink that is competitive you need a good cutoff time. I think at least 24 hours before the match would be sensible (so no-one has to check last minute sales, buys or GS updates). Not that I think that this is that serious but good ground rules are good ground rules.

So the original tipping post must remain unedited or you get 0 for that round.
The tips must be submitted at least 24 hours before the game.
You should allow people to change their tips though after the initial posting with a new post otherwise there is a penalty for early submissions before extra information comes it.

I still think tracking the PD will be too much work. Instead maybe you, Leeroy, should create a conservative spread. I would round it down so in all close games there would be no spread but in games that will be a slaughter to make the tipping more interesting.

So if the spread for HAX was +20. People would be tipping for HAX to win by 20 or more or if they were tipping against HAX they are predicting a win of 19 or less or a loss.

Simpler to impliment and run but maybe confusing at first for some people.

Ok instead of this:

8) 1 HAX V 6 DRA - HAX by 20

or this

8) 1 HAX V 6 DRA - HAX

The commisioner would set up a "spread" for each match before anyone can enter their predictions. So in this case if you think HAX will win this game easily by say 36 you could make the "spread" HAX + 30. So the players then have the choice.

1) HAX. They predict that HAX will win by 30 or more.
2) DRA. They predict that either DRA will win the match or HAX will win by 29 or less.

This is commonly used in real life betting to make betting on a one sided match more interesting.

It is also much easier to record the number of correct predictions each week which will just be a number between 0-8. It also doesn't matter too much in a competition like this if the comissioner gets the spread badly wrong on occasion. In real gambling it is a disaster as all money moves there.

For more information maybe ask rabidcamel I gather he is a heavy gambler, I think Naker may be too.

holy moly you got it spot on!
110-90, 20 point win!

T^2 with 28 pts 28 rebounds, what a game... only 1 assist away from a triple double too! >.<

Not to mention SVE put more into the game.. that should make some people believers
hahaha

Yes and fishys too I suppose.

Thanks Akuma, yeah I was pretty happy with picking the 20 point win, what a fluke. And that was a career high 28 boards for TT. I was hoping he would get that last assist... Just needs one more passing pop perhaps!
