Hometown hero lifts NT just in the nick of time
"We've been trailing the entire game and always when we thought we were going to take the lead, the HK cagers always seem to find a way to foil us everytime. When I looked around, my teammates were already worn out. Ulan was pushing but he needed help to get us over that hump. The clock went down to the last 2 mins and we all know something had to be done. When I came back in, I just knew that this was the final push. That's when everything slowed down and everything fell into place. It's hard to describe but anyone who's been in that situation knows what I'm talking about. I guess that's something you develop when you've played as long as I have." Discar told reporters during the after game interview.
"Edgardo Discar has always been playing with a chip on his shoulder ever since the team has been relegated to League 3 a few seasons ago. So it's always feels good to see him succeed and vindicate himself in times like these. To shut up his doubters and prove that he still has something left in his tank." Mr. Mokong was quoted after the close win last Monday.
"He's always been doubted as being too soft, or too selfish and was descirbed as a Kobe wannabe, but I know deep inside he just wants to give his best everytime and all he needs is the opportunity to do so.", he added later on during team practice. "He works very hard and has been a perfect role model for his teammates, specifically Gasendo and Pancubila. True, his salary has been an issue and has caused issues with us being able to recruit more talented players around him, but a player like him comes once every generation and we can't put a price on that.
