Ling Feng Kong out for 2 weeks

One of Singapore U21 Fantastic Four, Ling Feng Kong, was hit with injuries when playing on a league match. Feng Kong was playing well that time with 26pts and 4 stls, but rolled his ankle after a clash when rebounding a loose ball.

MRI result revealed a bone fracture, and need him to rest at least 2 weeks.

With his absence, his strong defense will be missed by Singapore team, especially against Kazakhstan on Sept 5th which Feng Kong won't play as well.

Yap Kwang Meng will start on Feng Kong place.

Singapore withstood Kazakhstan smart defense, won 82-71

Boxscore : (16448)

Fantastic Four were down one and half. Ling Feng Kong was on streetclothes, and Lim Shi Xin hurt his left wrist on scrimmage last week.

Things were going smooth as Singapore took 43-31 lead into halftime behind Peh Jian Long and Lin Chuan Loong strong play. But things gone complicated at 3rd quarter, when Kazakhstan start to pack the paint area, forcing a lot of outside shooting by Singapore team. Yap Kwang Meng, Kang Puay Ying and Abdul Hamid combined for 0/9 FG as they were forced to take plenty of long Jump Shooting. But Merlions managed to hold up the lead 63-55 going into 4th quarter after Kang Puay Ying buzzerbeater dunk that brought the standing ovation from crowds of the Esplanade Indoor Stadium Arena.

But the momentum is drowned again at 4th, as Kazakhstan use 11-4 run to cut Singapore lead by one 68-67. Both team kept exchanging bricks from the field, went scoreless until final four minutes when Kazakhstan tough giant Sergei Golinchekhov were fouled out. Singapore didn't waste the final chance and then keep pounding the ball to Lin Chuan Loong and Loh Leong Tong. Both were clutch to drag away Singapore lead by six with less than a minute to play. Kazakhstan kept misfired from three point land, and finally Singapore able to escaped with final score 82-71.

Peh Jian Long led Singapore with 15pts and 12rebs, Lin Chuan Loong had 14pts with only 17minutes of playing. Abd Rauf Ishak and Kang Puay Ying have 11 and 10 pts, despite combined for 7/27 from the field. Team leader Lim Shi Xin were started, but limited only for 14 minutes as the injury was obvious from his movements. He scored only 2pts and grabbed 5 rebounds.

Tanatar Musanov led Kazakhstan with 17pts. Kazakhstan star PF Igor Kelin were hold to 7pts and 9rebs, thanks to Lin Chuan Loong and Li An Wen tough defense.

Singapore will fly to Brussel on next week to face up with giant-crowded Belgium team.

Outclassed, outhustled... Merlions crashed at Belgium 57-105

Outclassed is expected, but outhustled should not be on the menu last night, and it was the one that irked out U21 manager Bigben.

Belgium superb 1on1 performance at 3rd quarter were good enough to break the Merlions' spirit, scored 49-22 on 2nd half to deal Singapore for the 2nd worst defeat in S17 Consolation Tournament, ended with 105-57.

Down by 18 after 1st half, the Singapore shown little resistance to mount back, kept loosen their defensive intensity, allowing Belgium to move the ball smoothly and scored at will. Their top guard Hugo Cepeda and Jean Fradet, kept blowing out Abd Ishak and Ling Feng Kong mercilessly. With their wild 12-2 run at 3rd quarter, Singapore U21 called timeout, and the furily animated coach expression was expected after the team provide no effort to stop the opposition side.

Peh Jian Long led Singapore with 12pts and 10rebs.

Singapore revenge 48 points loss with 93-53 blowout against Japan.

Merlions expect a fierce battle from Nippon, but it turned out to the other side.

With eleven points lead after halftime 48-37, Singapore tighten up the space on the 3rd quarter, allowing only 5 points for Japan throughout that quarter, and Japan never recovered and eventually surrendered to Singapore, who able to revenge previous Consolation Tournament matchup with 93-53.

Loh Leong Tong, come off the bench to led Singapore in scoring 23pts (10-11 FG) in only 17minutes of playing. Peh Jian Long and Lim Shi Xin scored each 18pts, provided a dominant inside plays against thinner Nippon bigman team.

Singapore will end the Consolation Tournament with a flight to Hungary, which would be the most difficult match as Merlions will face another six-digit salaried monster of the team and much more balanced perimeter players.

HCA and a far more superior squad, I guess there wasn't much you could do there. Just look at their player ratings 0___0

Don't worry though, 1 more win and you're probably through to the next round. The game against Japan would be crucial. Good luck

I thought they will CT.
Good luck to your game as well. England has one six figure.
