let's try to summarize it once again, and in short lines:

1) Rivalry are something that is pilled up along the seasons, and stronger and richer teams tend to get more team that find them as rivals.

2) Rivalries that are due to a long time of competitiveness (like derby games) are stronger than a one will have against just a richer team.
But, on this game there is no way to define a long lasting rivalry (at least not to much), and diffrenciate it from other rivalries.

3) A reacher and stronger team that will lose to a rivalry that is weaker will have much stronger affect on fan base, than losing the same rivalry with a similar strength team (for example).

So what do all those "short lines" have to do with the "fix the rival system"?

Every single line has (a) no connection whatsoever to the current rivalry system or (b) actually shows that the current rivalry system works fine.

Thanks for joining me in my opinion that the current rival system if fine.
