SEMI FINAL SUMMARY
Both semi finals were eagerly anticipated to be cracking match ups involving three EBBL teams and a lone division II team. The first semi final match up between Los Mikitos and Tatatallfella saw two teams from different sides of the EBBL conference battle it out for a place in the final. The first quarter belonged to Tatatallfella who held a five point advantage before Mikitos outscored his opponent in the second to take a nine point lead into the half. The second half saw the two teams exchange blows throughout with Neither side being able to build any momentum. The game ended with Los Mikitos edging Tatatallfella by a score of 79-75 in a fantastic game which lived up to expectation.
The second of them semi finals saw Durham Wasps show the gulf in class between an EBBL team and a division II team by outscoring Kapsukas in every quarter. The game was virtually taken away from Kapsukas in the first half with the Wasps showing no mercy to lead by the score of 61-36. The second half continued in the same pattern seeing the Wasps reach their first ever tournament final, winning by a score of 119-83.

The final next week see's the showdown of two teams battling for playoffs in their respective conferences in the EBBL. Neither side has ever won the tournament so the stakes will be high to gain their first ever major crown in England. Congratulations and good luck to both teams on what should be an excellent finale to another great tournament.

Teams remaining are as follows:
EBBL (2/16)
II.1 (0/16)
II.2 (0/16)
II.3 (0/16)
II.4 (0/16)

That's awesome. Nothing against Tata, but really happy to see those two teams who I've battled with over the years in the final. Mikitos have lost 3 finals including season 9, so are just about due I reckon, but the pesky wasps keep coming at you...

The Tallfellas have been really unlucky with the draw. I don't recall seeing anyone have to play four top division teams in a row, whereas I've only had to play one. Getting to the final doesn't seem worth celebrating for itself, only the winner of the tournament can celebrate.

Pesky Wasps; I quite like that. For the last season and a half we've been living up to our name by attacking on both offence and defence. Sometimes it goes very wrong and sometimes it works better than I could hope for. I hope next thursday it will be the latter.

Good luck to Mikramus, who has done a lot for England with his factory that produces NT player after NT player. Of course I'm very familiar with Stuart Madelin who was often my starting point guard with England. As much as I liked him then, I hope he has a stinker in the final.

Congrats to both finalists, good look to you both, although I'd love to see the perennial bridesmaid monkeys finally put the altar in gibraltar.

Under other circumstances I'd probably feel the same way.

Of the 19 people who made a prediction in the poll only 3 voted for another EBBL team, which includes both finalists. I know I was one, so at least I'm guaranteed something from the final.

Interestingly both Mikramus and me were promoted last season after being relegated the season before. So if you're facing relegation, or any other form of disappointment this season, don't give up.

Your two teams are testimony for that, both of you totally deserve the cup! It's hard to chose between you, two hugely valued members of the England community.

Congratulations on your first tournament win Mikramus. Thoroughly deserved.

I thought my advantage in enthusiasm might cover up certain other deficiencies but it wasn't enough. Though the scoreline was made worse by the inevitable foul fest in the last minute I didn't feel there was much doubt that I was struggling in the fourth quarter after putting up a good fight for three quarters.

Kalajdzic's 30 rebounds were obviously a huge factor, probably more than his 33 points. I just couldn't force enough turnovers to make up for the lack of rebounds.

Again, well done, you had a much harder draw than me and deserve the win.
