Bill Guerrero's huge double-double powers Philippines U21 past Hanguk U21, 93-59 (81905)

Tehran, Iran -- On his second tour of duty, Bill Guerrero puts on a show to lead Philippines U21 to a victory over Hanguk U21, 93-59. Guerrero finished the game with 32 points and 15 rebounds, in just 28 minutes of gameplay. He also converted 15 of his 31 attempts from the field. This is his second best scoring output while donning the Pilipinas U21 jersey. Last season, he exploded for 39 points in a crucial game against Bosnia U21, which they won and formalized Philippines U21's entry to the second round of the World Cup.

To help Guerrero in scoring, Howard Leynes collected 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Dellan Catucod added 11 points. Primitivo Dematera and Abelardo Baluyot chipped in 8 and 7 points, respectively.

"It wasn't the balanced scoring that we saw in the last few games, but Bill [Guerrero] had the hot hands, so we had to give it to him." Coach Leo replied when asked about Guerrero's performance. "He's a veteran, we trust him to make crucial decisions for the team." Philippines U21 is now 3-0, and still tied with China U21 atop Pool C.

For Hanguk U21, Young-Jin Jang and Je-Kwang Jung paced the team with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Hanguk U21 falls down to 1-3, putting them in danger of getting eliminated in the first round.
