I'm not sure it is based on team record you know, I went 22-0 and my player who was 2nd in scoring and 5th in assists came only 5th overall.

I think games playe by each player may have an impact though? My players are always rotated for game shape, whereas most of the others with MVP votes are played nearly every single game.

Team success is factored into the rankings but so are things like how many games/minutes your player played.

My player Huey Spoonemore didn't rank as high as he should have because I bought him part way through the season. It's the impact that player had on the league play as a whole, not just what stats they averaged.

Most important stat seems to be scoring. The top players in the MVP voting in my league are amongst the top 10 scorers.

This guy is among the top scorers every season. (22363162) - scoring translates into wins, so maybe the PPG is somehow compared with the team PPG. If the share is big enough...

I am also unhappy with BB's system of MVP voting.

I'm leading my division with the record of 21-1, and I don't have any player that recieved a vote in MVP voting. It's true that none of my players played more than 25 minutes per game but still, many of them played better than most of the players in MVP ranking who played 35-40 minutes per match. And it's very unrealisic that none of the players of the top team recieved any vote.

And what about our division's MVP?
In 39.3 mins/game; 7.5 average rating, 24.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 7.7 APG with 49.8 FG%. Not bad actually, but what about that player when he played against me when I applied a lockdown defence on him?
In 39.3 mins/game: 6.5 average rating, 12.67 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 3.67 APG with 23.6 FG%.

What kind of MVP is that when he can play like that against top team of the division? He can only be an MVP in a world where choker LeBron James is an MVP. :P

I actually used to do a write up every year for my leagues and would predict the MVP for the season. There was a stretch of three seasons that I predicted correctly. One of the major predictors is your player ratings. After that, its not necessarily any one stat, but more of a combination of stats. Those guys that tend to be good in several areas, combined with high game ratings, are usually the ones chosen for the MVP.
