Seems only fair. But i think there needs to be some punishment for teams that just dont even try in the second game.

If so many teams didn't get hammered with injuries in the playoffs, maybe they would try? I don't understand why this game is setup where you're basically *expecting* an injury. As it is now, you're heavily discouraged from trying.

This playoff run I had 4 separate injuries to starters, & 2 more injuries to backups with a level 6 doctor. (Plus having to deal with foul outs on top of it.)

My putting out a decent lineup in game 2 almost cost me winning the finals as BB refuses to allow players to actually play.

i had a guy, a backup, but got 20 mins a game, who in a league game closing out season with 44 seconds left in a game up by 15, was hack-a-shaq'd on a shot attempt and injured. This injury cost me gameshape, cost me money, cost me ultimately a promotion that year as I could not unload an injured vet for much, and could not replace him on short notice at high market demand in time for playoffs with the limited capital.

I agree with you. The injuries are definitely a back-breaker in playoff runs. I also watched a friend's team, that he dismantled before playoffs, get past a team that botted for first round, and in the second round, he injured 4-5 players on the best team in the league, prior to the finals. Pretty much screwing him out of his promotion instantly.

The whole injury "problem" is a non-issue.

I mean forreal... this time its your team that gets bitten by the injury bug and next time it might be one of your opponents. If we take out the last little bit of randomness we might as well hand the trophy to the team with the best roster at the end of the season.

It's one thing to have an occasional injury... it's a whole different thing when entire teams are basically taken out.

If you like randomness so much, how about not even simulating playoff games, & having the winner determined by virtual coin flip? Yay, randomness! I mean since you don't like teams being able to have their players on the court & all... that should be ideal in your world, right? (It would keep the best team from winning any series about 50% of the time too! So it's extra great.)

With an insanely high risk of injury, there's no reason to use any player of value in game 2. That's why it's an issue. You yourself said earlier in the thread, "The finals like they are now are pretty pathetic. "

Anyway, it's not like there's not already huge randomness in individual games themselves. (like 30+ point swings between quarters, crazy foul games, teams being on fire shooting, etc...) . With the playoff rounds until the finals being only 1 game long... there's plenty of chance for a worse team to get lucky without injury.

Imagine the randomness in the NBA if every playoff series became 1 game eliminations. Or just look at the NCAA tournament with all the upsets there. BTW, can you name an actual basketball league that's completely dependent upon injury to make things interesting/compelling? If there is one... it must really suck.

Injury risk is the same for everybody here, so maybe one or two seasons get f'ed up, this can happen to anybody.

NFL finals are the biggest event on earth, so those one game series somehow seem to work.

Timberwolves are the best example of a team totally screwed by injuries, so what? Shit happens.

If You really want to have more reality in this game then arenas in 4th divisions should be empty. 10k attendance in 4th division? It's crazy. There shouldn't be more than 200-300 spectators, and half of them should belong to family or friends of players.
More reality? Look at country like Lithuania. They have 5 divisions in BB. There are 256 leagues on 5th level, and 8 games in day in every league and all of them has about 4k spectacors. It means that in one moment 256x8x4000 = ~8M people in Lithuania visit arenas in 5th division. However in real life Lithuania has only 3M citizens...
Conclusion - this game has to be sometimes unreal. It is only way to make game good to play and balanced for more than 30 users.
You accept 10k attendance in 4th division, which is very unreal. So why it's so big problem to accept attendance drop in 3rd game?

But everyone knows Lithuania has the #1 tourism in the world on game days. So it isn't just locals going to 5th division games, but world travelers in search of great hoops action, blynai crepes, and getting "locked up" in the KGB prison for a few minutes.

Yes, but how many of those teams in the fifth division are bot teams? And we all know that only robots will be attending those games, so while the human population of Lithuania may not support such a massive attendance, I am quite confident that there are plenty of toasters and unmanned drones and microwave ovens that have all the time in the world to watch their machine brethren hoop it up.
